I noticed that St Kilda delisted Matthew Capuano today and that made me think about one of our big men, David Sierakowski.

Siera has hardly gotten a mention this year - he has been relegated to Subiaco for all of this year, and from reading the newspaper reports and watching a few games - he's done nothing to impress the selectors (with the good form of Haynes, etc making it harder for him).

Personally I can't see him playing on with us next year, so should we bite the bullet early and delist him so we can pick up a rookie (Zac 'Attack' Beeck has been doing very well for East Perth this year).

Thoughs please.

Siera was another of the 'fix it' players from the Judge era. With the youth policy at the club ATM, i really dont see him playing any games for the club

Pity because i thought he couldve done a reasonably job at CHF for a while but injuries have halted his career. The club should give him till the end of the year then let him 'retire' rather than delist him midseason

Id like to think so too.

I dont see the benefit in sacking ANY player mid-season. Never know what's going to happen injury wise.

If we needed Beeck to play for us (even though he is playign bloody awesome) it would be because we were injury ravaged, and if we were injury ravaged we would have a few long term injuries, one of which Beeck would then replace. There is no way we should delist ANYBODY before seasons end, period:)

We don't actually need to promote Beeck (should we choose to keep him) until the end of the year do we? Don't you have a chance to promote him onto the main list after any delistings that happen?

Still I remember Dean Buszan having big wraps on him when he was on the rookie list and never getting anywhere.

I've never been a fan of delisting players mid season and despite Siera's very low chances of ever pulling on an Eagles guernsey again, I'd still like us to keep him to the seasons end then deslist him.

Fair enough - I know we're more professional than to delist a player mid-season, just something to ponder over.

Plus, Siera was on a fairly cozy wage, so we might as well keep him until his contract expires.

But if we delisted him....who would host "Talking Eagles" on Wednesday nights???? :D

Seriously though, we are far too professional to delist a player midseason. Not sure if Seira will remain at the club come seasons end but their will certainly be no midseason delistings.
