All the best to him and a good opportunity to have a bit of a go at it without the pressure and scrutiny.

Credentials aren't massive but he's been around a number of clubs and has been coaching for a long time now so I am sure he will be adequate.

I'm sure if he has a few good results and a good run at it he may well get the job next season but time will tell.

Yep good on ya David, all the best, blah blah blah.

Club had a chance today to just pause for a moment before announcing to the public Brendan's replacement for the remainder of the year.

Club should have said we will announce it to the public tomorrow.

Today lets just pay Brendan a bit of respect for the good he has done.

Probably in the minority on this, but to me our club stinks a bit.

Teague had Adelaide's forward line playing really attractive team-first footy - had the players to pull it off, of course. Hoping that's the mandate he's being given with us. Get the guys having fun, and enjoying eachothers successes on field. Thinking back to something that came out of Richmond's flag year - recall some of their players crediting a change in mindset from playing set roles, to each player doing what they do well. If their strength was chasing and tackling, do that well. If their strength was taking big marks, do that well. If their strength was running their opponent ragged, do that well. I think that needs to be where we're at for a while - let the players re-learn what weapons that have that make them an AFL footballer, and then structure the 22 in a way that best uses those weapons.
Yes. Horse before the cart...

Put your money on the Blues this weekend

I don’t care about just this weekend, although I do want this game to be the start of our players allowed to play fast attacking corridor football. I want to see us play the game as it should be played, with run, carry and dare. Set a forward structure that allows us to kick to forwards. Let them hunt the man and not the space. Play man defence And not zone.

Let the kids play footy.

Wonder if Josh Deluca has broken some kind of record for a player to be on their second coach in the shortest amount of time, two in 5 days.

Does that make you happy or sad or indifferent?

Agree with this Surrey ... just not sure its that simple.

New coach effect is a big deal, always has been. I expect some good performances.

For how long? can't turn 21 yo kids into 25 yo 100 gamers …….

About a week then it all falls flat.

Christ I hope the club is NOT that short sighted.

Unfortunately it can only be bought to bear by pressure from internals (power brokers).

If the internals are strong the club can weather...… if they aren't, then it gives way to public opinion.

Let’s not throw the baby out with the bath water. This should not be seen an an excuse to rotate every player on the list through the team.

Settle on a best 22 and if they perform they play and if they don’t then relegate them to the VFL.

Sure, experiment a bit with the players in different positions but the objective must be (as always) to win at all cost. This is the message that’s been sadly lacking.

I just think the mature players will now drop off and the young players will then really struggle. Going to be a tough rest of Year IMO

This is the most intrigued i'll be watching a Carlton game for some time.

Genuinely have no idea what to expect and just really hopeful we see some dare and aggressive, attacking play.

A very likely scenario.

In our last few years we've always copped beltings near the end of the season, even moreso than earlier.

My expectations are the kids will be in a bloody whirlwind. Their world as they know it has been turned upside down.

Next week will bear no reflection of the talent that we have.

It is ****ing sad.

I have got zero idea on what to expect the rest of the year...I would imagine just more of the same only with a new commander trying to sell hope.
Hoping Teaguey does well, but given our forward structures have been appalling, it's more hope than faith....

Too reactive for mine.

We are all in pain.

You cannot hold ONE person to account for the clubs vision.

This is what has happened today … and believe it or not … some of us are not happy Jan.

CFC bulleted a scapegoat.

I agree with you man. And yet half way through the last quarter yesterday he was gone. I knew it.
The players werent interested.

I get your point but the Club could not do that. All the talk would be about how they have no plan, can't decide on an interim coach etc. When dealing with a crisis you do what you can to provide certainty. Club before person.
