we were categorically smacked in the middle and those identified players (majority forwards) would have had no impact on the result in the middle. North bully us and they have done so for several games.

We beat them last yr but were very lucky to do so. On 3/4 time they had a shot on goal directly in front, but some Norf dolt (Polec?) got nasty with some of our players and it was reversed. A goal would have put them in front and given them tremendous momentum coming into the last qtr. As we saw y’day, it doesn’t take much for the Blues to go into surrender monkey mode. We fell over the line and won by 7 pts.

Hence all week this game had me very very anxious.

The reality is not everyone will be happy with whoever is appointed. I'd be happy with whoever is chosen as long as they're a proven coach with tactical nous and a tough competitive edge.

It's completely untenable to keep a sacked coach on as an assistant.

full clean out for mine - maybe power stays.

get Ross in the head seat and watch the best assistants come across as well.

coaches would be licking their lips to get a list like this at their disposal.
Walsh, McKay, weiters, Charlie, SPS, Saad, Williams, Cripps, Martin etc etc all 27 and under. We’ll have three all Australians this year. The talent is there it just needs competent management and system.

If leppitsch is the best option we are in strife. Went at under 20% as a coach. Terrible special comments just seems to think that if he says a lot of words he will appear smart.

Scott, Lyon, Pyje and Buckley would all be better options.

I'd be fine keeping Teague if there appeared to be some semblance of a gameplan being worked on. Anything. But there's nothing...and there appears to be nothing coming from the club or the coaching group about any defined plan going forward. The "we're not good enough and have things to work on" and "we'll learn from that" have become tired and pointless.

We need someone with a proven record instilling a plan.

Pyke- killed Adelaide but is the reason behind Sydney’s ball movement etc

Leppa- was a disaster but the list was in rebuild faze

Scott- took north with an average list to finals, had clear plans and knew how to get the best out of the boys.

Lyon- is he out dated?

Unfortunately the problem with coaches in Teagues current position is they are 'on the nose' with the media and with the supporters and that must permeate to the playing group.

Whilst there is the modern argument of holding our nerve and do a 'Hardwick' by keeping him the danger, in my opinion, is what happens if we lose early games next year. The pressure gets ratcheted up even more and risk another wasted season which I think was the reason Ratten was axed.

Glad I'm not making the decision to be honest - damned if you do, damned if we don't

For example either as part of a coaching succession plan or one comes in as HoF?

We Need the right coach who is competent at his trade, this 'Alpha' BS has nothing to do with anything. I would have liked to see Scott at the time Teague was appointed, I thought he had the right amount of experience, had done pretty well with a not great list at North and wasn't over cooked.

Alpha might not be the right word, but compared to the great coaches of recent years, Teague's missing something. No nonsense coaches who know who they are, have supreme confidence in themselves, defend their clubs from in-ept media. Teague isn't that.
