Ch10 news ran a story on tonights news previewing the show.That means it was either a slow news day or this show really sucks.

Ten News would shorten a report on the Second Coming if it meant they could squeeze in a "story" about their latest program.

Having seen the brief clip they showed...what does the interviewee actually see when they are recording? Logically the animation of Tench's mouth to match the unscripted discussion has to be done post-interview, so what do they look at the whole time?

This David Tench character was interviewed on a local perth radio station this morning. Desperately unfunny.

Apparently this show will go for 26 episodes. I guess there is a chance it might improve?

Possibly the worst 1st episode of anything I've seen along with the Mick Molloy Show and US Office. The US Office got slightly better though.

Agreed. I watched the first episode and was making fun of it like others.

After seeing the second series, I'm now a fan.

As far as Tench goes, it has so much potential, but I doubt it'll ever be executed well enough. I don't think this is a series that people will want to watch, specifically young kids. Would teenie boppers rather watch "Celebrity" Survivor or Tench? I doubt the latter.

I'll say it sees out the full season, just because it was advertised so much (I'm surprised they haven't started advertising next week already), but not much longer after that.

I know its poor form not to bag something new and different but I liked it. Strangely enough I thought the show would be better without the guests. Maybe more of a Letterman format with the guest only being a small part of the show.

Top first show. Most shows improve on their first episode too. It was better than what I was expecting.

The first thing to commend is Channel 10's willingness to try something different. In an era where there is absolute crap on Australian TV (especially Australian produced stuff) we get something unique. This in itself deserves praise even before it went to air.

Secondly, it was actually pretty funny. In some ways it doesn't matter who the guests are, because Tench himself is the star of the show. What I'm hoping for is for the show to get big enough that celebrities "want" to come on the show and get interviewed by Tench. The celebrities might see this as helping their careers. A bit like how The Simpsons became so big that celebrities actually asked to be on it.

A promising debut. Will be very interested to see the ratings figures. I think the curiosity factor alone would have it at 1.5 million minimum, and most who watched will tune in again.

If anything, the show will hinge on the writing. A lot of people will find his persona annoying.
