What kind of tone deaf narcissist would say they have no regrets about doing an act that put the game in such disrepute?

The type of bloke that genuinely doesn't know the actual meaning of regret? He's dumb as a doorpost, he probably does regret his actions, but feels that it has help him grow, or something along those lines.

Still a ****wit, but not hanging him on being shit with words.

tbh all he done in that event was suggest it to Bancroft, who could have easily said no.

Smith was worst of the 3 imo, he was captain knew of the plan and let him do it.. zero balls.

Yes and no. It was very poor leadership.

A good leader sees that at the very least SOMETHING is being cooked up, channels Allan Border and says ‘f**k off, not on my watch’ and pulls rank.

Equally though they are grown men, and no one forced them to cheat, least of all Smith. Yes I fully understand that ignoring it can be seen as being just as bad, I do get that, but no one was making them do it and someone with the shits at the situation and who by that stage was pretty clearly not cut out actually be the leader just saying ‘you know what? I just don’t want to know what’s going on’ is not to me as bad as a senior player concocting a plan to actually do it

The evidence for this is what exactly?
Watch the swing the quicks were getting in the Ashes before Sandpaper gate and they haven't been able to produce it since lol
The swing is part of it.

The right people at CA know. What Warner’s manager hinted at last summer is very close to the truth. Almost exactly what I have heard happened after the 2015 Hobart test.

Probably the type of narcissist who took the fall with two of his teammates for something the entire team, coach and some administrators were in on.

Some of you guys are laughable with this stuff what other side punishes the entire team for ball tampering? who cares who knew what the dumbarse in bancroft who actually did it and the leaders of the side dumb enough to ask him to do it are responsible and were heavily punished.

Line up to squeeze in Green.

Khawaja
Labuschagne
Smith
Green
Head
M Marsh

Bancroft, Harris and Renshaw bide there time for Khawaja's spot.

I really think we should be thinking about moving marnus to 4 at some point, not sure what people see in his game right now that makes them think he would be a good test opener, as for green he simply hasnt done enough in test cricket to justify moving around any of our best guys anyway whether thats head or marnus green needs to wait till spot in middle order then he needs to show he is good enough to make runs there.

Who bats #3 then?

Smith has never really had the technique for it, and putting Head there doesn't seem like a great idea.

marnus has to be 3 until smith retires and we find another number 3 to replace him, thats thing i just dont see marnus being a good opener so for what we have right now he is best suited at 3, heads been match winner at 5 so putting him into open seems like robbing peter to pay paul we just have to pick one of the legit openers and hope they come good and green needs to wait a while.

Which other side does what is not relevant. Some countries have denied doing it despite being caught on camera the same way Bancroft was.

CA dished out penalties way in excess of the match referee partly to save face and partly to satisfy the outrage-mob.

But i mean who cares if bowlers knew or didnt know? they werent dumb enough to ask anybody to cheat or to actually cheat so what do you want done about it over 5 years later?

It would all be he said she said anyway warner can say yes everybody knew rest of them can say no we didnt know and what then? same people who have attacked warner non stop will then take his word as gospel?

Australia had built up a reputation as being fair sports/non cheaters for DECADES prior to the cricket scandal.

They flushed the good will we built up in one foul swoop. So what if other countries were doing it ? Why should Australia resort to cheating to win ?

They should have been banned longer. And Smith shouldn't have been made Vice Captain again - his form doesn't even warrant it.

Oh yay the sandpaper conspiracy theories for the 100000000th time.

None of you have any idea who did and didn’t know, just give it a ****ing rest holy shit.

Yeah, people do know what happened.

Some of you are like children learning Santa isn’t real.

You were in the dressing room? Otherwise give it a rest

Many things can be true at once.

Langer was probably a great teammate.

He was not a great coach, or at least a coach with a use-by-date.

The qualities which made him a great teammate limited him as a coach.

Cricketers hold grudges, grind axes etc, so his former teammates stuck up for him.

Some of his former teammates are a bit dull.
I think the major issue with Langer was that his methods were best suited to a previous generation - I know myself coaching Senior Cricket at Community level - the way I coach / deal with players now is very different to when I started - I was fortunate to win a few flags and attended a 20 year reunion of the top side that I played in - none of the way we went about it then is relevant now. Langer wanted too much control and the players rebelled against it. It’s not that he wasn’t a good coach, just his methods hadn’t adapted to the younger generation

Clarke copped a lot of s**t (most of it unfair) but Warner is on a whole other level. I never felt a large % of Australians actively wanted him to fail like with Warner.
I’m not sure what Clarke copped was unfair - my mail says he was a fairly average bloke off field

Cricket brain of ChappellI, people skills of Kevin Rudd, it all seemed a rather unfortunate mix.
