Warner sounds to me more like the Joel Selwood of the team: a big-headed flog of a bloke and a bad sport who pushes the limits of the rules; who was elevated to a leadership position and is unliked by the general public

Bahahahahahahahahahahahaha yeah good one. Selwood has been described by just about anyone who knows him off the field as one of the most generous blokes going around. And, um, he’s not f***en despised by his teammates.

The ultimate act of c***ery: dragging a pathetic footy hatred into a discussion about open and planned-cheating on a cricket field.

Selwood?

Are you sure you weren't thinking about Dangerfield?

Things Selwood and Dangerfield have in common with David warner: the opposition don’t like them

Little else.

Keep reaching.

I was actually defending Selwood.

Dangerfield on the other hand...

He doesn’t sledge, that I know of, he has a perfectly even temper, hes not a downhill skier, he’s got a brain. Aside from arrogance, I don’t really see the similarity, even though I can see why people dislike him.

Always saw him as a flat track bully who dominates on the rubbish flat pitches that continually get produced, never rated him as a quality batter.

To make things worse he is the Cyril Rioli of the Australian cricket team so we continually have to hear that flog Slats and his mates drool over him.

Him being VC is an embarrassment over the lack of leadership the Australian team has has since Steve Waugh left. Punter wasn't the worst but Clarke and Smith aren't leaders of men.
Any test cricketer that averages 48 as an opener over that length of time is worth their weight in gold. Whether or not he makes his runs on flat tracks, minefields or on the moon. Still have to be good enough to make them.

I find it hard to believe the bowlers wouldn't know the ball was being worked on.
It depends on how long and how vigorously it had been worked on for. In this case, if they did not know, it is hardly surprising as there was a very small amount of time between the start of the second session and when the ball tampering was picked up by the camera. It takes more than 5 minutes work on a ball to change its appearance.

It was a joking reply to a Geelong fan who said Warner was the "Cyril" of the Aussie cricket team, you tool
Feel free to read the thread next time some words on a forum sets you off

And, um, thanks for letting me know what a great guy Selwood is. :rainbow:

I'll keep it in mind next time I call him a flog :thumbsu:

Sorry but I’m not reading 140 posts just to vet the solitary one I’m replying to

Plus, the umpires clearly caught wind of what was happening. Why did they not immediately change the ball?

The umpires checked the ball and found that whatever Bancroft was doing was having no influence on the condition of the ball - had they found that the condition was worse since the lunch break it would have been replaced.

As for Warner - too many strikes = stick a fork in him, he's done.

Faf du Plessis was found guilty and fined and allowed to play the next test.
Which is absolutely piss weak. Happy with the penalties CA have given out to Smith and Bancroft although Lehmann should definitely count his lucky stars. I guess 12 months is appropriate for Warner too but I'd be stoked if he never played for Australia again. If he never played cricket, he'd be flipping burgers at HJ's.

I agree its absolutely pissweak. Sachin Tendulkar got a suspended match penalty. And no-one did anything about England's outrageous pitches last two Ashes series. Thats more cheating than marking up a ball. The rules on cheating in cricket are pissweak. I wouldnot be sur[prised if Smith and the others challenge.

Nah life bans would be ridiculous. Half the public have jumped on the bandwagon when they probably don’t give two shits normally of what Australia does overseas. The masses are what Ch9 panders to so that’s all we need to know.

Tend to agree but there needs to be a special place for Warner. It's turds like him reducing the game to shite. In good news perhaps some of the other countries might like to follow suit, along with the icc who need a min 3mth ban.

You've never met chewy?
One of the very very few who gets told to **** off every time he ventures onto the cats board.
Bosk level muppet Strange Cat I'm sure will attest.

Pitches? Oh you mean the things that both teams have an equal opportunity to play on and which a coin toss decides who gets best use of?
Oh yeah awesome comparison.
