With CA due to lose millions over the TV rights deal, they will hardly be able to hire a decent QC for the Warner appeal. Expect Davey to take them to the cleaners, 12 months suspension for that is definite restraint of trade. There are millions who would back all three of these players to appeal their severity of their suspensions. You can hardly take the opinions of some people here seriously. It is obvious they have never pulled the whites on in their lives and have no idea or knowledge of cricket.

Why would CA bother defending this too hard?

Smith getting a reduced suspension via an appeal is the perfect scenario for them. They get him back early but they don't look like they've been weak.

I wish he had just come out and thrown everyone under the bus. Every time there had been ball tampering in grade. Sheid, test, Ipl

Yep, it really destroyed Fafs career.

With Warner's evasive answers and this from Lehmann a few weeks ago - surely they were all in it?

Warner being evasive to hold out to strike a deal with CA to be allowed to play again?

.....and not necessarily for Aus. He needs the green light for the IPL.

....and why he fell on his sword

I'm surprised Warner said anything at all, his future is domestic 20/20 comps so he will be appealing this for sure so the more he says the worse it us for him.

Warner has no need to try and win back the trust of the Aussie public as he knows he is finished on the national side.

The SJW brigade only care about evil Australians it seems. Seriously every team at every level has done it. If it's so bad dob them all in. How about we suspend every registered cricketer in the world for 12 months. They must have all done something naughty

anyone who believes that the entire setup didnt know about it , is very naive.

But how long did they use the cheating methods?
im absolutely convinced it was used in the Ashes too.

Much like Trescothick in 2005?

Interesting how Harmison, Flintoff etc never bowled that well again once Trescothick retired.

Dopey choice of a PR expert for warner. Was the problem not the solution and everyone saw through it.

His missus has spoken to The Daily Telegraph for an article. I'm not sure there's much more to it than this:

A devastated Candice Warner has broken her silence to reveal she blames herself for the ball-tampering scandal....

Speaking exclusively to The Daily Telegraph’s Phil Rothfield, an emotional Candice appeared to suggest the ridicule aimed at the Warners over her infamous bathroom tryst with Sonny Bill Williams 11 years ago led David to make the biggest mistake of his professional life.

“I feel like it’s all my fault and it’s killing me — it’s absolutely killing me,” Candice, who insisted she is not making excuses for David.

“… I never want to do a ‘poor me’ story or anything like that whatsoever, but Dave would come home from the game and see me in tears in the bedroom, and the girls just looking at their mum, it’s been heartbreaking.

“… Seeing them wearing the masks, to have people staring and pointing and laughing at me, to have the signs, to have the songs made up about me, I would have to sit there and cop that - and he had to just cope with it.....he was protecting me as much as he could and protecting the girls.”

Candice offered another explanation for David’s lacklustre performance at his press conference, declaring her husband is ‘seriously struggling’ under the weight of the scandal.

She also rejected reports David had fallen out with the majority of the Australian team
