Whatever with the pr, but I don't know a young woman/mother who would react differently in that situation to the way she described. Warner is a hothead and he very much loves his wife. Makes sense to me.

I think anyone with even half knowledge of this series knew how Warner got into the frame of mind he did.

This seems to be for non cricket people who just think their cheats without any context.

A devastated Candice Warner has broken her silence to reveal she blames herself for the ball-tampering scandal....

Speaking exclusively to The Daily Telegraph’s Phil Rothfield, an emotional Candice appeared to suggest the ridicule aimed at the Warners over her infamous bathroom tryst with Sonny Bill Williams 11 years ago led David to make the biggest mistake of his professional life.

“I feel like it’s all my fault and it’s killing me — it’s absolutely killing me,” Candice, who insisted she is not making excuses for David.

“… I never want to do a ‘poor me’ story or anything like that whatsoever, but Dave would come home from the game and see me in tears in the bedroom, and the girls just looking at their mum, it’s been heartbreaking.

“… Seeing them wearing the masks, to have people staring and pointing and laughing at me, to have the signs, to have the songs made up about me, I would have to sit there and cop that - and he had to just cope with it.....he was protecting me as much as he could and protecting the girls.”

Candice offered another explanation for David’s lacklustre performance at his press conference, declaring her husband is ‘seriously struggling’ under the weight of the scandal.

She also rejected reports David had fallen out with the majority of the Australian team

The cynic in me says that the Warners spin team has realised his wife is far more likeable and sympathetic than he is, and as such they need her to be the focus.

"She thinks it's her fault, so when you criticise him you're really criticising her, and maybe she'll tell the kids the Easter Bunny is dead if you're not careful".

Then they dragged the kids through that media pack at the airport and used them for an excuse to get home.

anyone who believes that the entire setup didnt know about it , is very naive.

But how long did they use the cheating methods?
im absolutely convinced it was used in the Ashes too.

I suspect it hasn't been used before. The whole thing was hidden so poorly that it surely can't have been rehearsed or done before. At least use something white. Did they only have the bright yellow ODI cheating kit available? (Maybe it had been done by other means, but that was too easy to spot and would have been seen if used before at international level.)

The idea that only those three knew is harder to swallow. But if it was a first time thing perhaps they would want to hide from the others, in case someone objected. And unless it had been done mamny times to that ball before being picked up, there may not have been anything obvious for the bowlers to see. So, it is possible, nobody else knew - just IMO unlikely when combined with initial talk of a "leadership group" decision.

He told Bancroft to do it and even gave him a ball tampering with sandpaper lesson according to the CA investigation findings.

Better than in the old days when the wives and kids had to stay at home and the cricketers had a girl in every port. I think it's better on balance that they are able to travel with them now.

I think it's pretty disgusting what Candace has been subjected to but you can't control other people's actions only your own.
