This bloke thinks he is bigger than the game now, he is going all legal in the hope that this episode will be erased.

The more he refuses to answer the hard questions whilst engaging lawyers to save his sorry arse, the more I want him removed from our game forever.

That he's a dickhead and the sandpaper was his idea? Sure. That this has never happened before, when Warner appears to have approached Bancroft precisely because he'd been spotted altering the ball previously? That Smith is some naive rube who couldn't tell what Warner was up to from a couple of metres away? Those are harder to swallow.

I think he would need absolutely everything going his way to play again . Loads of runs and the Aussies being terrible .

Yes. Warner and his supporters needs to take responsibility for why that may be, not continue to blame public perception as unjust.

Are you kidding? His press conference was identical to Smith's and Bancroft's. Took responsibility (even though there's no explicit evidence he was involved, unlike Bancroft), said he regrets it and had a cry, while ignoring the pointy questions. It seems CA's operation save Steve Smith is working a treat.

And I'm no Warner supporter, can't stand the guy. But the difference in how CA is treating him is appalling. They have one goal in mind, bring Smith back into the fold at any cost.

CA is treating him the same publicly, but all the leaks were designed to show him as an evil mastermind and Smith some innocent rube. Neither would be totally accurate. Yes, some of it is chickens coming home to roost for Warnee being a dickhead, but it doesn't make it right. One only has to look at the hypocrisy in responses: Smith cries and it's contrition, Warner cries and it's contrivance. CA PR working a treat.
