look they all have issues

Harris looks a million dollars does all that hard work when set then knicks off time and time again...plus he is average in the field

Bancroft.....bats time but falls over his front leg with his head causing him to play down the wrong line knicks off.....is good in the field

Renners... looks good when set but has had issues with fitness and keeping himself switched on...good in the field

You're being kind to Harris saying he's average in the field TBH.

On the list of cons for Bancroft you left out ball tampering cheat.

So what happens if Head does open and fails..........the selectors will screw him up like they did to Tom Moody, changing his position and up and down the order just to accommodate Mark Waugh's failures at the time.

Head goes back to middle order for England if it fails.

I think he will play next test regardless, the Renshaw experiment was a dismal failure. Rarely do I see a score of 2 as flattering, but his 2nd innings was that.

Think we'll find out later this week, if Warner plays then I reckon you're right, if they make a bold decision (not really bold, he's woefully out of form) and drop him for Head, then I think it'll be a really good choice.

If Warner is dropped I don’t think he’s getting back in.

I'd be putting a line through Harris; he's been exposed at Test level and has not been able to overcome his flaws. His Shield form is good but he is unable to replicate it at Test level. I'd almost say the same for Bancroft. Renshaw's Tests largely came when he was very young, he deserves the opportunity to show he is suited to Test cricket.

I’d agree, also the idea that Harris could of done anything to help matters in India is optimistic at best.

I get the impression you are not a Harris fan, lol. But struggle with your thoughts on Renshaw.

I have never said that I’m sure Renshaw will work out. Far from it. All I have said is give him an extended run without a coach wanting to drop the bloke. Give him a few series then let’s see. If it doesn’t work then pick a young opener like Henry Hunt. At least we know he won’t drop catches like Harris will

Nope. It's the only thing he is known for. And it matters when he is one of a few underwhelming options, picking him will bring that back up.

At least he’s improve our terrible fielding which has been dreadful under McDonald

Yeah there's probably not a solution to this problem to be honest. Grim times ahead the next 3 tests

So you want to give Renshaw a few series?

You've never once afforded Carey the same consideration?

Lets cut to the chase.....what's the odds on Warner being retained / dropped?

Do we reckon the selectors have the guts to drop him or will the 'credits in the bank' excuse save him?

50/50. I don't have much faith in them to do the right thing, but the leaks from the Aussie camp do seem to be well informed these days.

Sigh 747

Well you brought it up and I feel obliged to comment about it

Yes he is known for that and it will always be on his record and he has live with that as a cricketer for the rest of his playing career. (some would say that is punishment enough) but remember 747 he wasn't the only one Warner Smith got charged and they did there time also. It was a dark time for aussie cricket and there are still questions lingering about what happened that day.....and remember a lot of players that day are still playing...cummins starc hazelwood lyon ussie still are playing......still questions that need to be asked

But going back to bancroft IMO he has done his time and should not be judged on what he did that day (but i can see that he still is judged by it by yourself)

The only think that matters is the amount of runs he scores and the form he is in IMO

Let me ask you this ..Do you believe its harder for bancroft to get back in the team regardless of how many runs he scored because of what he did compared to other players ??
