Incorrect, I watch plenty of cricket across all forms and I think we needed to throw the book at them. Just because the ICC punishment is like being hit with a wet newspaper doesn't mean we should follow.

No, I don't support England or India or Pakistan. I support Australia and a cricket team that has spent the past century telling all and sundry that we play hard but fair but that we don't cheat like the other teams do.

I'll take that as yes then that you accept its ok for other countries to tamper with the ball & players from other countries to as well.

Yea I have, haven’t called for his dropping for a while, whilst I have some concerns on his keeping I’ve said all summer he’s improved this massively. I did prefer Inglis before Carey was in the side but right no no issue but these next two series are important. He kept very well in the first test

On that, the ICC penalties should be much harsher for ball tampering. Our penalty was over the top, the ICC’s was utterly pointless.

The umpires can just replace the ball, though.

Definitely think that bringing something on to the field warrants a harsh penalty - a few matches, maybe - but if the umpires do their job and see the ball has been tampered with, replacing the ball means that any benefit ends pretty quickly.

I think the penalty was about what it should of been, but ICC punishment for such things is ridiculous.

I couldn’t imagine India penalising their players in a similar manner though, England would. Especially in Baz ball times.

yeah whiteman is just another option just throwing it out there

renners was picked this year in the test squad with just one big score ....so stranger things have happened

whiteman over there gives us an option if there are injuries/form with the ashes squad.....bit like marnus last tour

Surely they're not going to make Head open, that would be a shocking thing to do to him after that dropping. It's not hard, Head in for Warner and Renshaw opens. If Green is back and can bowl play him instead of Handscomb and play Cummins, Starc (hopefully), Lyon and Murphy.

They ****ed the selection up bad for Test 1, I really hope they dont do it again. I work with a few Indian blokes and they thought it was hilarious we dropped Head, they couldn't figure it out (I can't either).

They get the ball at the end of every over, plus when wickets fall, umpire reviews, DRS reviews, etc. And they can ask for it at any time. If a wicket fell and the umpire noticed it had been tampered with, I think they'd be within their rights to declare the ball dead under the under play rule and recall the batter.

Nah not really just bancroft and whiteman from wa could be in the mix along with renners hunt puck harris to replace warner

Sure, with very obvious tampering, but a bit Vaseline here and there they might not. Ball tampering should be punished by games off, I don’t know why people seem squeamish about it.

You don't support those sides. Not sure what's that's got to do with it in the context but we'll let Du Plessis ; Philander; Dravid and Afridi off because you don't support the countries that they come from.

You should hold the same contempt for this named above as you do for Bancroft; Warner and Smith. Their either all cheats or their not (or they tried to cheat or bend the rules).
