So after being suspended for an "alcohol related incident" we make Warner carry the drinks while wearing a fluro vest with a giant VB logo on it.

FFS...

There's so many things wrong with this post I just don't know where to begin so I won't.

So you would have supported nicking off early rather than celebrating a test win? Yeah I'm glad you're not in our Test cricket team, or are you Shane Watson?

i'm surprised you wouldn't attack the nuts

Well I reckon that's a bit low, and I'm not sure Clarke has any aggots as it happens.

I think 5 hours in a changeroom as a senior player is probably more than enough. I'm sure that in the history of Australian sport Pup wasn't the first player ever to want to be the first to leave.

I would like to think on this particular matter (drinking in between matches and what not) the captain never has any say in whether it's allowed or not. The team staff should clearly rule on that.

In Cricket, surely it's the Captain's call - and the senior players back him in. Part of the problem is that with the departure of Hussey, Dave seems to somehow be treated as a senior player.

That's why they brought in Haddin

Absolutely nothing that I can tell of. Root was messing around with a wig and ended up using it as a beard. So from there I can possibly see a situation where Warner thinks Root is making fan of Amla or someone and decides to do something about, but that doesn't really allow him to punch Root. A talking to, of course, but not punches. But there's no reports suggesting Warner felt like Root was making fun of a friend. (and again, if that is happening, you talk to the person, you don't hit them)

Nup. Cricket isn't different from any other sport in this regard. Somethingtthat relates to player conditioning and stuff in that field should be left to the appropriately trained staff rather than a player. the captain may step in and say "seriously guys, let's not drink at all ok?" but that has it's own problems when a fellow player says "how about no?". it should be left to the staff

Yeah well I guess after 2 and a half Breezers he'd probably had enough to drink, I think you're right.

This has the thing where Warner thought Root was taking the piss out of Amla.

I agree with you on the course of action Warner should have taken.

Ah that's where I got the beard thing from. Wasn't aware they had new info.Still a couple of weird things which I'm sure will be clarified (eg why Warner thought Amla was being made fun of despite there being no interaction between the two. I doubt Warner has just decided Root is making fun of Amla without there being any verbal element to it ).

Davey, Davey, Davey.

Throws a punch and its a glancing blow, still can't hit anything in the middle.

Pretty woeful to see him out there running drinks as well.
So we could invent some new terminology here.

The batsman Warners (attempts to punch) it to point.

The batsman Warners (glances) it to fine leg.

The batsman Warners (nicks) it to first slip.

So the poms were in an Aussie bar, after a win against Australia, messing around with a yellow and gold wig and possibly mocking Amla? Warner is a massive tool but sounds like the poms were being w***ers themselves.

Saw Flintoff tweeting about Warner only picking on the smallest, pretty sure Warner is smaller than Root you big dumb ****.

First person in the history of Australian sport. Can you believe it? We were alive for such an historic moment.

Jim Maxwell is spot freakin on.

the standards have dropped in every way since Punter and Hussey retired, both on and off the field.

IMO they need to make an example of Warner right here, not just to get it through his thick head, but to straighten out the rest of the squad.

Sounds pretty dumb.

You'd expect some patron to take offence.

This was posted by "shocking" on the smh site and was too good to not share with BF...

unfair by 'shocking' a more appropriate comment would be 'Warner still hasn't middled anything this year'
