I've never disliked a player more than Warner. He talks a big game and tries to act like a big man off the field, but backs it up with rubbish performances and dumb acts. Him being out is clearly a good thing for Aus, regardless of who takes his spot.

I know somebody mentioned ponting's early booze issues but i can't see warner turning things around, unlike in ponting's day warner can go back to his 6 week booze fest otherwise known as the ipl and still make a great living from cricket.

You have to think CA played a part in this as well, they sack players for not doing homework on a test tour but from the rumours going round warner spent the entire ipl pissed and acting like a dickhead but CA aren't going to rock the boat and discipline one of their players while they are playing the ipl.

p.s. root? all the dickheads like broad anderson swann in that team and he takes on a harmless kid?

Mate they can't, IPL occurs during the six week leave period granted under the memorandum of understanding with the ACA, he can pretty much do what he likes while he's on leave - except get involved in Twitter wars with journo's;)

Ah fair enough, but the fact they allowed our players to be off the leash for 6 weeks is just as bad.

CA have pretty much tied their future to a combination of 20/20 cricket and indian money and i can see us producing a whole generation of entitled dickheads like warner because of it.

Response to Cricket Australia statement regarding David Warner

Following a statement issued this morning by Cricket Australia, the England and Wales Cricket Board confirms that David Warner initiated an unprovoked physical attack on a member of the England team in a Birmingham bar following England's 48 run victory over Australia. Warner has admitted behaving inappropriately and has since apologized to the player involved who has accepted the apology. Following a full investigation the England team management has concluded that the England player was in no way responsible for nor retaliated to the attack. ECB has concluded that this is a matter for Cricket Australia and have no further comment to make.
