Great to hear. We really need that tall option in the forward line. There is too much pressure on Taz and T.Clo has only played 2 games.

Totally agree hopefully he can get some fitness under his belt and get into the 1s for the needed experience. He will be a valuable player when the team gets healthy. Tarrant, Rocca, Fraser, Didak, Caracella, T Cloke and Davidson forward line sounds very good and would be hard to match up on.
The quicker Blake Caracella is not an automatic selection the better we will be. Rusling and/or Davidson need to force him out of the satrting 18 if we are to improve. I'd give Davo one or two games in the Willy ones then pick him in the seniors regardless of form.

U cannot win footy games with 4+ tall forward options. Not gonna work. Long term, i think tarrant and davidson (if he stays fit) wil share midfield/half-forward. Cloke will be a roaming CHF, Rocca will stay close to goals. With Fraser FF - CHF rotating
For us the ideal set - up this year will be.

F: Leon Tarrant Fraser*
* Need Holland/Burns/Woey to kick goals.
i agree with you hotpie....get Davo some games and confidence in the knee and achilles then get him straight into the 1's

Throw in a little bit of Leon and a fair amount of Fraser and its a forward line that can kick a winning score. Just needs to get better delivery to them.

F: Egan (see Rusling), C.Cloke (he will take time), Davidson
Rusling is playing out of the square for willy but with his speed should be used as a smaller player/midfielder/winger.
Purely optimistic but these forward line is hard to match up on. If Egan develops well his arm length and height will be a factor for a smallish forward, if Rusling turns out to be a gun as all reports go he will be impossible to match up on. Tarrant when not at FF is already hard to stop and Cam can be a fat decoy. Davidson much like Tarrant and will swap who works up the ground more with T.Cloke ala Rocca and Tarrant 2002/2003 where noone was sure who played CHF and FF really.

I reckon Billy Morrison has more chance at being a full forward than Cameron...and that's saying something!

Theres something to try when Davo's fit to play again in the seniors. Play Taz in the midfield and Davo at FF.
It's great that he is playing again and his one half of footy was nearly as good as Leigh Walker's but let's not get carried away. He is long odds now to make it. He will be a lesser player for his two knee recos and we don't even know if he would have been good enough before hand. Hopefully he gets some confidence and form back soon and he starts to have an impact at senior VFL level and we then get to have good look at him in the AFL. Don't pin too many hopes on him though because it is more likely to end in tears than not. He has to have enough talent and drive to begin with, he has to have retained enough mobility/athleticism and he has to stay sound.
I agree Mark, but it's a sad indictment that he is unequivocally one of our best prospects!

good call muzza .i think for me one of the most disappointing things about the loss against freo was MM not trying players such as tazza in different positions.i have been a bit critical of tazza at times , but was really impressed with his attitude on the few occasions that the ball got to him on the full.Murray said:

I'll accept he is not 100% and so go easy on his ability to get to the ball and follow up but for a player on his money and regarded as highly as he is he is performing poorly. It isn't just because the team is playing badly it is one of the reasons for the team playing badly.
I would love to see him on a wing but if he isn't fit he can't do it now and in any case I reckon he has done too many beach weights for that position. Regardless, if he gets near 100% fit he should be tried on a wing with Lonie on the other.
Davidson might be better off on a half back flank until he has confidence in his knees.

It was reported in the Age last weekend that Tarrant hurt his knee in pre-season training. Up until that point it was planned that he would go into the midfield.
Twice a week Tarrant needs to have his knee drained. Once straight after the game and again mid week.
If his performance is down, I think he might have a good reason for it.
Mark you and I have advocated for a long time that Tarrant playing up on a wing/midfield would be something special to watch
