This may sound like a crazy comment but it might even be better for the long term prospects of the team if we lost to Carlton by a couple of points on the weekend after this incident happened. Then the players would see that even the smallest of bad decisions can have an impact on the entire team and all of them can learn a lesson that will strengthen their commitment and desire for the future.

If 50,000 cute fluffy bunnies were going to be brutaly executed in front of their cute 4 year old owners if carlton didn't beat Collingwood, it still wouldn't be a good time to lose to carlton!!!

I'm coming from the position that I don't think this is our year to win the flag. It's still a learning process for a lot of the players and losing to Carlton this week could be one of the more important lessons they learn this year that will help them for the future.

I'm thinking short-term pain for long-term gain.

How long have you been following Collingwood Hadders???

Your causing a lot of people right around australia to feel really crook in the guts!!!

The law of the universe quite clearly states paragraph 8 point 2b "If you are a pies supporter, nothing good can ever come from losing to Carlton"

EVER HADDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

Hey I said it was a crazy idea but if it adds that extra 0.5% that gets us a flag in a couple of years time it'll be worth it.

Not sure if anyone else has said this, but losing these 3 is great. Means we can slot Dutchy, Didak and Medhurst straight back in!

Seems almost too easy for the pies to deal with

It would be beyond the laws of physics for me to be in greater agreement with footyfreak right now.

Very harsh and draconian that you can't even go to a party in a different city after a win - but it sends a convenient unspoken message to the players which is that now we have enough *depth* that we can *afford* to drop 3 players for minor disciplinary reasons. This would not have happened last year! Let's face it the #1 priority of the club is winning and team discipline is very important to that. Human rights and social fun come a distant 2nd. The only player that will be significantly missed is Leon. More than covered by inclusion of Didak and/or Medhurst. Not sure if Holland will have much impact 1st game back. the main potential problem is that Leon takes a few games to get going, he's just started to get form and this might set him back again - but that probably applies more to when he is out injured, always takes a few games to get back up to speed. In this case hopefully he will maintain momentum in the magoos.

Hmm... with this theory in mind, i suspect a conspiracy. Did anyone actually see these boys out and about?? I think not! Me thinks they were tucked up in bed all along. Maybe Brodie spread this rumour to ensure his call up...
