Didn't know, thanks. Thought Kokk and Hewitt would have been better but I'm happy going with Groth. Just think Groth's volley's are very overrated and prone to errors.

He played against Czech Republic with Lleyton, think he's our number 2 ranked doubles player behind John Peers who made the Wimbledon Final in Men's Doubles.

The guy has made a semi at the French in dubs and is considered as a doubles player as much as a singles player. So yes. EDIT: didn't see previous posts so ignore that.


After the first round of dubs I would of slotted Groth in for singles with kokk for the dub and re-assessed on the final day but I can understand, Wally going for the jugular on the first day....

Yep, I just hadn't heard him playing doubles much. Don't really watch a lot of doubles though apart from when Hingis is playing. I love Kokk and Kyrigios playing singles. I wouldn't rule out Hewitt in the singles either.

Kukushkin and Golubev are very handy players and Nedovyesov is also dangerous although he probably has a lower ceiling. When Kukushin and Golubev catch fire, Kyrgios is probably the only player capable of matching them. Luckily Golubev seems to be in clown mode 95% of the time nowadays but he is still a very tough doubles player in any case and he has wins over Wawrinka and Goffin in Kazakhstan's past three DC ties. If Kyrgios loses to Nedovyesov then we are in serious trouble because there is a very good chance that the Kazakhs will pull something out in one of the remaining ties.
