I think it might be. Big mental hurdle to get over and one that might give him belief at the slams. Alex played a fantastic match. The serve was the difference in the end.
Well done to De Minaur for a great effort! Such a promising young player. At the same time I'm a bit relieved for Zverev for winning a 5 setter. Would be a huge monkey off his back and I hope to see him start to go further in Slams

Going to have a good Davis Cup team in a few years with Nick and Alex. Tomic who.

Anyone know how ADM fares on clay? That will be key for away ties. He went 20/7 in 2016 but they were all at futures level. Last year he went 2/5 but 3 of the losses were at ATP level and he might not have been ready at that stage.

Yeh watched that game, he played well, was unlucky, had the chance to go 4-0 in the last but just missed that opportunity, his serve is his weak point, bit like women serving, just gets it in to start the point off, he will still be an awesome player but if he can improve that serve it will certainly help him

Between the age of 5 and 13 Alex grew up in Spain and he would have developed his tennis on the clay. Think he's decent on it.

He trains in Spain so he must be comfortable

Great effort by De Minaur. Annoying though that as I was driving home every radio station I flicked to seemed to be more interested in bagging Tomic than talking up De Minaur. Never mind that Tomic actually had a very good Davis Cup record either.

When did they start with the tie breakers in the 5th set for the David Cup?

Why follow the yanks and the US Open? Demeans the competition.

Bad luck for De Minaur to lose in a tiebreaker :'( so close!

Didn’t see The Kyrgios match but score line suggests he did it fairly easily. Could have been 2-0 but if you’d offered me 1-1 at the beginning of the day I would have taken it.

Need to win the doubles. Anyone know anything about the Germans doubles combo?
