a couple of state league players i think might get drafted, Tom Highmore and Jackson Ramsay(not going to speculate where they might go).

others outside of the top 50 include, Seamus Mitchell, Luke Pedlar, Henry Walsh, Kalin Lane, Liam McMahon, Sam Collins, Josh Green, Campbell Edwardes, Jackson Cardillo, Jack Avery, James Borlase, Lochlan Jenkins, Max Holmes, Connor Stone.

some guys who were very unlucky not to be given a chance at the AFL level

Jackson Callow - i wouldnt be surprised to see him either picked up mid year or after a year in a better state league than TSL, the knocks on him are rubbish and im confident he will prove some people wrong

Kaine Baldwin - i guess clubs were either too scared to take a chance on him or the medicals werent as good as they would hope, or maybe they want to see what he can do next year before picking him up?

Zac Dumesny - really good player and solid, doesnt put in a poor performance and can play anywhere except key posts, maybe they thought he wasnt flashy enough to draft this year as a lot of ordinary but flashy kids got drafted which was a shock to me (imo dont mean to degrade any kids, but it seems clubs went for average flashy guys instead of good footy players in some cases)

Brodie Lake - really good player from the NT, really unlucky as he had a good year in his first year in the SANFL.

Oliver Davis - a really competitive contested player who didnt get drafted, i guess contested mids are less desired these days as most mids are attacking mids with speed who can create separation and break defensive zones and take advantage of 6-6-6 situations, but as an in and under tackling machine, im surprised he was left un-drafted, maybe he needs to work on his speed and running work on field?

good to see players i liked from previous drafts get a chance like Luke Parks and Lachlan McNeil, so a second chance could be just around the corner.

What can you tell us about Lachlan McNeil?

he was a really good inside mid in last yrs draft pool and improved this year to get drafted, if you look at last years draft thread im sure i went into him a bit more as i usually focus on the u18 talent.

i had him in and out of my top 50, he is a workman-like inside mid, that from bits and pieces of what i saw of him in 2020 he seems to have improved his game and was a regular in the SANFL this year.

i feel as if the big winners of the draft were Collingwood, even their rookies were strong picks, i also thought North did really well with their draft hand, also WCE for where they were in the draft didnt waste a pick on speculative kids, if i were awarding Gold, Silver and Bronze medals to teams for their efforts, they would be the 3 podium placing recruiting teams imo.

Collingwood - Oliver Henry, Finlay Macrae, Reef McInnes, Caleb Poulter, Liam McMahon, Beau McCreery Rookies - Jack Ginnivan, Isaac Chugg

really liked Henry and McInnes, i thought Macrae and Poulter are good value too and McMahon was impressive in his underage year, could be big development from him, also love the Ginnivan pick and Chugg is really quick off of half back, if he was more productive i would have talked him up more this year, but he is speedy.

North Melbourne - Will Phillips, Tom Powell, Charlie Lazzaro, Phoenix Spicer, Eddie Ford Rookies - Patrick Walker, Connor Menadue

they obviously focussed on midfield and small forwards, picking up the 2 best pure mids in the draft in Phillips and Powell, also picking up a value late pick in Lazzaro, then aiming to bring in a speedy small in Spicer with a few tricks and the contested strong Ford in the forward half really late, P.Walker was an interesting choice as rookie, he looks ok and re drafting Menadue ex Richmond player

WCE - Luke Edwards, Isiah Winder Rookies - Zane Trew, Daniel Venables

short and sharp, but got Edwards and Winder 2 players with a lot of potential and performances on the board, then they got the controversial Trew who was rated pretty high until Sumich? had a go at him, similarly to Darling, so could be smoke and mirrors? but Trew has too many proven performances to go rookie draft so thats huge value there imo.

Your list had Freos 4 picks inside 32 and 2 in the first round. Considering the picks we had and only losing a future 3rd, I think that rates a mention.

there were a lot of teams who did well, i just thought those 3 teams pick ups impressed me the most, it was just a personal rating.
