Xavier Walsh (East Perth) will finally make his colts debut tomorrow listed as starting at full forward.

Mitch Williams (East Perth) returns after at least 8 months away with injury and is named at CHF.

Will be keeping a close eye on those two tomorrow and I know you've had tabs on them for quite a while.

I hope they play well, Xavier Walsh looked good at the u16s as an overager last year, the other overager who looked good is getting hype in Will McCabe at Central Districts, Mitch Williams I liked because he was a match winner in a game a couple years ago and looked like a good forw prospect, strong mark, im glad he had a good productive wafl colts period last year kicking a good tally of goals, shame he has been injured for so long, hopefully they have both kept improving.

Watching the game now, it's half time and Xavier Walsh looks too good for Colts, he is playing at a level higher than everyone on the ground, missed a couple shots at goal for 1.2 but he's marking on the lead and speed has been great close to goal and outside 50, Mitch Williams has been alright, but that knee is limiting his impact, he got a good mark near goal and so has 1 goal, but looks proppy, Edwards has been great for Peel in the ruck, he's doing an English getting a heap of taps and poss.

Yep, Walsh looking very good - Can begin to move him up a few places. Another newish player Lucas Kemp (EP) playing well in defence. Will Cassidy is a classy performer for EP in the midfield as an over ager. Sam Graham, Bailey Harbour, Brody Delaney and Mitch Miller also very solid for EP.

Peel undermanned. Mitch Edwards battling strongly in the ruck. Trent Brown having a crack in the mids. Reece Torrent quiet so far.

In fact I'm going to have to keep an eye on Kemp (44) for EP. I think he might move up the WA board

Yea Reece Torrent has been quiet and seems slower than last year to me, East Perth have the bigger bodies and are pretty dominant in the contest, they should have a good year, whereas I doubt Peel goes back to back.

Will Cassidy has some talent, might get a crack at AFL, most likely state league footy, but you never know?

Kemp has been good but Peel doesn't really have a CHF so he is getting a lot of easy ball and intercepts.

In the next few days I'm planning to do a list of the best players from the Coates League and the Northern Academies based on my points system of the first 4 rounds which are the rounds everyone is available to play Coates League, because after that private school teams take precedence for most prospects, I'm also planning to release another update to the top 50 list with a few changes and an update on the best 50 prospects for next year that I've seen so far, I have a few catch up games to get through, but it should all be done within the next week or so.

after watching all of the first 4 rounds of CTL, i thought i would share my thoughts on each teams best players, add height, stats and their draft year ect, i also will put their points i give them as i watch these games based on good footy from my PoV, im sure theres a handful i didnt add, but i think i have most of the best players for each team, i tried to make it as exclusive as i could, i guess its time for me to play some Slipknot and get to work typing it out......

he played for Vic Metro in the u16s champs i didnt notice him much there, but seems to have improved, is the only real shining light for Bris Academy(although i did have Fazldeen and Gillett as others, but they got cut out of the final draft) and is linked to Sandringham Dragons so should play more there or a private school in melb?, he moves well in contests, uses the ball fairly well, i can add his stats if you want 91d in 3 games (avg 30.33) 20m 13t

he played for Vic Metro in the u16s champs i didnt notice him much there, but seems to have improved, is the only real shining light for Bris Academy(although i did have Fazldeen and Gillett as others, but they got cut out of the final draft) and is linked to Sandringham Dragons so should play more there or a private school in melb?, he moves well in contests, uses the ball fairly well, i can add his stats if you want 91d in 3 games (avg 30.33) 20m 13t

after watching all of the first 4 rounds of CTL, i thought i would share my thoughts on each teams best players, add height, stats and their draft year ect, i also will put their points i give them as i watch these games based on good footy from my PoV, im sure theres a handful i didnt add, but i think i have most of the best players for each team, i tried to make it as exclusive as i could, i guess its time for me to play some Slipknot and get to work typing it out......

as promised i will do a top 50 for the 2024 draft, these are early calls, mostly based on u16s and CTL form, its just a guide at this stage to give you an idea of the talent for the draft in around 18 months time, i will do a new and updated top 50 for this years draft in the next couple of days, so here goes, a guide to the 2024 draft and talent.

SA were dominant in the u16s champs and VC and WA were very weak, but VC has 7 champion kids who didnt play u16s and VM has 2-3 good kids who didnt also from talent ID while watching this year, i will highlight them in the list, i think these additions will make Vic Country much stronger in particular.

The only NT player I thought was decent was #29 Waylon Davey, most of NT struggle to compete this year losing every game by 100 points on average I think?

Yes was tough to watch but I’m tipping 3 to get selected for Allies. Turner, Rowlands & Green.

Excellent job, my only query is that looks way too low for Sam Lalor?

Excellent job, my only query is that looks way too low for Sam Lalor?
That top 20 is hard to get into, I do like Lalor, but atm he would be around 20-35, which is why he is 27 in the list, he averaged 18 disposals, if he gets that to mid 20s he has the ability and is a tough player so he could crack the top 20, but this is an early list, I'm sure some will improve and others drop off by the time we end the championships and have more of a solid idea on who and where they go in the draft order.

i thought i would add another 10 to the May list as i liked a few more than i had for my top 50, so heres my updated May Rankings

i guess its controversial, but i rate Delean ahead of Moir in SA, i think he performs in big games better, i really think Rogers for GCS has taken it up a level this year, i rated a lot of talls high because i know how valuable AFL clubs rate them, Curtin, Walter and A.Reid, Freijah had a huge game showing what his ceiling could be, McCabe has had some excellent games in the u18s in SA, C.O'Sullivan is a decent player, but at his height and the way he moves i think he would be a valuable prospect so i raised his rank because of that, Philactides has the potential of last year, but i have not liked his form this year so far, Xavier Walsh was very impressive in his debut WAFL Colts game(was very good in u16s champs), Clay Hall is playing well in the WAFL and Logan Evans is playing well in the SANFL, Caleb May is a good mark around the ground, Darcy Weeks has been impressive since returning from injury, even though Sanders is averaging high poss, i have not been a fan of how he is playing this year so far.

i thought i would add another 10 to the May list as i liked a few more than i had for my top 50, so heres my updated May Rankings

i guess its controversial, but i rate Delean ahead of Moir in SA, i think he performs in big games better, i really think Rogers for GCS has taken it up a level this year, i rated a lot of talls high because i know how valuable AFL clubs rate them, Curtin, Walter and A.Reid, Freijah had a huge game showing what his ceiling could be, McCabe has had some excellent games in the u18s in SA, C.O'Sullivan is a decent player, but at his height and the way he moves i think he would be a valuable prospect so i raised his rank because of that, Philactides has the potential of last year, but i have not liked his form this year so far, Xavier Walsh was very impressive in his debut WAFL Colts game(was very good in u16s champs), Clay Hall is playing well in the WAFL and Logan Evans is playing well in the SANFL, Caleb May is a good mark around the ground, Darcy Weeks has been impressive since returning from injury, even though Sanders is averaging high poss, i have not been a fan of how he is playing this year so far.
