Whilst I am happy to take Reid I think it's fair to say that McKercher could not have done anything more and elevated his stocks during the Championships. Whether physical attributes or playing style affect his chances of going no. 1, I'm not sure, but he has been the best player in the last 5-6 weeks.I haven't seen anyone step up and challenge Harley Reid from open draft. If it's between Harley and Walter (knowing Walter will get matched by Gold Coast regardless of where the bid came) West Coast is likely to go with Harley.
Last pick 1 for West Coast was Michael Gardiner in 1996. They might be keen to get the pick 1 press this time around.
