theres a lot of KPP/Ruck options for clubs this draft, i thought i would put some names out there

Jed Walter - KPF (GCS)
Dan Curtin - KPD
Ethan Read - KPP/RUCK(GCS)
Connor O'Sullivan - KPD
Nate Caddy - KPF
Mitch Edwards - RUCK
Will McCabe - KPD(HAW)
Ollie Murphy - KPD
Jordan Croft - KPF(WB)
Archer Reid - KPF/RUCK
Logan Morris - KPF
Wil Dawson - KPD/KPF
Michael Rudd - KPF
Lachlan Smith - RUCK
Taylor Goad - RUCK
Will Green - RUCK
Vigo Visentini - RUCK
Evan Smith - RUCK/KPF
Riley Weatherill - KPF
Zane Zakostelsky - KPD/RUCK
Charlie McCarmack - KPF(GWS)

i dont think i have seen this much KPP depth in 1 draft?

Coen Livingstone?

Like but seems no love elsewhere?

I just heard a rumour north are playing games flying Clarko to WA and are keen on McKercher and Duursma, so I'm running with it, that's all, I also heard a rumour WB are most likely to get GCS pick 4 and are keen on the wiz, just rumours at this stage obviously.
Any interest who the dees may have their eyes on with their first pick?

Hoping it's Sanders.

Thoughts on Vigo Visentini and Cooper Lord?
I was one of Dante Visentinis few fans in his draft year and he is doing good things at Port Adel, I think his brother is also a good young ruck and should get drafted, Cooper Lord I'm not sure if he gets drafted?

Potential Draft Bolters

ZZ Top aka Zane Zakostelsky, 196cm kpd part time ruck, I thought he played well in the champs, but his recent form and athletic performances in the ruck could lead into a big combine and get clubs excited, I also really like his touch and movement in traffic and decision making skills, being BOG in a wafl colts GF also helps your draft profile, I think he could bolt up the rankings come draft time

Wil Dawson 200cm kpf/kpd, was mentioned as a possible high pick prior to the champs, had a really good champs playing defence for VC, really strong in the air, can kick bags of goals as a forward, his height is great, i think it comes down to the combine for him, but I could see him rise in draft rankings

Charlie Edwards 190cm mid, he is already bolting up the rankings with his speed out of the contest, I wish he had played champs to test himself against the best, I also wish he averaged higher disposal numbers, very much a burst player like Harry Demattia and I'm a fan of both, Charlie might even be quicker or at least to the eye test he seems that way, the combine will determine how high he could go.

P.S. Leake and Windsor having already bolted in recent weeks.

Windsor as a bolter as well?
Will be interesting to see which wingman goes first on draft night - Wilson or Windsor

#58 2011 - With Neale winning his second Brownlow I thought I would go back to the phantom drafts to see where he was placed. Not one phantom draft had Neale in it. With this being said I think there are plenty of rough diamonds in the 40+ range.

there is more access to vision on players now, back then you relied more on going to the ground and seeing them play, the extra vision of games makes it easier to talent spot, back then im guessing a few got passed the attention of the guys doing the Phantom Drafts.

plus you have the sub 180cm bias some have, which meant they under rated him.

There are guys that just seem to thrive in the AFL system after not getting too much chance as a junior. IIRC Neale works harder on 'ground ball pick ups' than any other player in the comp so a lot of his ability is learned rather than natural.

Ruckmen especially can be found late - Marshall, Dean Cox, Draper, etc etc.

Agree the vision is better now, but it goes to show that its an opinion based game when it comes to selections. Thankfully Freo had the foresight to look at his attributes and how they will translate in the longterm vs the immediate need. Neale is a star!

Love your work Davo. I don’t really understand the massive rise by Tew Jiath and Lance Collard on Cal Twomneys Phantom Draft. Also I don’t get why George Stevens has dropped I guess there’s not much room for improvement because he is big bodied and already AFL ready?

Why is Arie Schoenmakers rated so lowly?

ticks LOTS of boxes. Whats stopping him from rated inside the top 25.

I reckon pace off the mark would be one of the boxes that he doesn't tick (and that could be an issue for someone who isn't a key defender but more a tall flanker / back pocket type), but whether his specific level of speed has him down at 37 or not is debatable.

Twomey had Collard in his Top 30 for his September edition and not in his August so that suggests that there is a lot of uncertainty after Pick 20.

I agree with Ysaye, he seems a little slow and plays as a flanker, has not shown any kpp capabilities, lacks pace, lacks agility, good kick, good decision maker, penetration on his kick, seems a bit risky to go top 25 imo.

Also my rankings is where I rate each player against all other players in the pool based on years of data, it's subjective.

Is there a bit of Grant Birchall about Schoenmakers?

Nice. Why has Sanders dropped in your rankings?

Nice. Why has Sanders dropped in your rankings?
The top 10 is all so close, they could go anywhere, the only locks in the top 10 atm would be H.Reid, Walter and McKercher, after that is all about preference imo, sometimes I think Sanders is that next in line, but then I think maybe clubs are more excited by a game changing forward or a guy who can play kpd/mid or an athletic KPD, these guys are all in a certain range, but then either performances you see (catching up on games you missed during the season)or ideas about what clubs in the top 10 are keen on change your view, example you see a player like Sanders as going around pick 4-8, sometimes you think he might go 4, then you think Duursma has more hype atm and Read is a KPP so I'll move him down to accommodate them.
