You'd hope so. Really this serves both teams well. Dawes isn't really required at Collingwood anymore and Melbourne/Dawes are very keen to join together.
Too much ego/playing hard ball could end up costing the Pies. Pick 20 is a f'n good deal. There'll probably be something else added but either way Dawes will be at the Dees.
Don't hand over #20. Please.

Walsh even said another first rounder would be of use to Derek Hine so this deal shouldn't take too long. Dawes' manager even said there have been discussions of what it will take and pick 20 was about right.
There is no other way.

Before the Lasik surgery and broken thumg he looked about to explode and go to the next level, he could easily still do that.. he'll never klunk marks like Cloke but he has the tank of a midfielder and he's smart as all hell, see his premiership saving handball lying on the ground to Cloke in the dying minutes of the drawn Grand Final
There are plenty of ways. Players, exchange of multiple picks, combination of both etc. etc.
Dawes for #20 alone is overs by some way.

pick 20 (which is probbaly about a 15% chance of being a good long term AFL player) is somehow overs for a 24 year old 100 game power forward that played in a Premiership 2 years ago.

I guess it's open for debate, but I think pick 20 is fair. Dawes is young and has a lot of footy ahead of him. Big men aren't easy to find and we need some players with experience in our team. Draft picks are never guarantees.

I'm confident he'll be back close to his best next year, he's had nigling injuries, and played disgustingly out of position. Is a true CHF, aerobically he is very good, runs a very good 3k and Beep for a guy of his size. Some people don't want to give up 20, and you wonder why we've been holding up the ladder? He's a proven player, when he plays where he should be playing. Left the pies, because he was still going to be playing out of position. I reckon Neeld has said, here's a spot a CHF alongside Clark, no BSing around, no 2nd ruck. We got Stef Martin, or will get Cam Pederson to do that. His a role player, these guys make premiership teams. He won't be the best CHF of all time, but structurally he will help us improve tenfold. People forget his 2010 form, was a large reason why they won the flag, and another reason why they didn't this year. I reckon will give up 20 and 56 for him, and I'm fine by that. Great recruiting by Harrington and Neeld so far, we may not be picking up the likes of Goddard, but we're picking up blokes who know how to play a particular role very well. I, say bring on Farren Ray, he'll teach some of the blokes to run both ways and plays a good shut down role. Starting to look like a respectable football club who are buying in, as opposed to apparent 'talent' who thought they'd run show.
