So what, even if we are paying him $500k a year as long as he does his job I have no issues with it!

I think its a simple as pick 20 take it or leave it....Pedersen and Gumby would come much cheaper.

Not sure Gumbleton would be that much cheaper. Despite his injuries he's still a massive talent, hard to place his value as he's a high risk high reward scenario.

Before Neeld came I don't remember the last time we signed a big name. 1st Clarke and now it looks like a contracted Chris Dawes.

Clarke, Dawes and Hulk will cause headaches for our opponents.

3 talls is a lot but Clarke and Dawes are very quick and hard working. We have Pedo that can play Hogans role and than he might support the back line.

All we need is Byrnes and Barry to provide some crumb up forward.

Very interesting forward line that have all come from elsewhere.

Barry looks like more of a high roaming forward to me.. as Byrnes is, however I think this will really help Davey as he will be able to play the stay at home small role.. may prolong his career if his body holds up..
Plus draft/rookie at least 1 pure crumbling forward

I guess it depends on what sort of attention he attracts from other clubs, although being contracted I would suggest you are right.

But seriously, that seems about right but I was trying to make a point. :p

BREAKING: Collingwood has agreed to trade Chris Dawes to Melbourne in exchange for first round draft pick + swap of later round selections

People still believe those AFL news accounts?

Bit like all the posters on the trades thread saying 'their understanding is' after reading that Facebook page.

ok - so 20 and 45 for Dawes and 58.

Use 58 on Pedo?

He's no world beater but surely North won't take pick 58. That's pass territory in the draft.

Edit: ok maybe not pass territory but still.

Was about to whinge that this thread only had rubbish and then I get to the end and find out we have landed him!

Pretty happy with the deal and I still think there will be some later moves done for other picks. We are still probably getting decent compo for Moloney and potentially something for Rivers too so we still have picks to play with.

very happy, fair enough we gave both 20 and 45 but to get 58 back thats not too bad. very happy with our forward line now.

Neeld getting it done!

Clark, Dawes & Hogan. All of a sudden Melbourne's tall stocks are looking all the more better.

Congratulations on getting your man and enjoying some more good news after a lean few years. The stronger the competition the better the quality of product for everyone to enjoy!
