Come draft time it won't be 45 either probably closer to 50.
 
What I also love is how much Dawes slipped down in the rankings after just 1 bad year (and with an injury too). If this was two years ago there's no chance in hell he would have gone for pick 20. The guy is young and could become anything.
 
No complaining from anyone on this and no trolling from any 'twits'... We have been screaming for forwards, now we have 2 Gorillas who are genuine forwards (not rucks come part-time forwards) and these guys can both play!! Plus 1 to come in 2014.

One more quality mid at number 4, Pederson at 58, keep Rivers and Martin and it has been an outstanding draft. We will make inroads next year.

Surely the Roos won't throw Pedersen away for Pick 58? I know it's not the thread for it but I can't see that one happening.

Having forward structure and big timber like Clarkey and dawesy will make our engine room work harder to get it to them lace out because they want to be rewarded for there efforts....

What i really want now is 2 outside mids ready to go with hot speed and good skills.

That's what I thought but every post I read around big footy seems to suggest it will be enough. I must be missing something. As for Dawes I'll admit I wasn't that keen initially but for pick 20 I'm pretty happy. Pick 20 doesn't mean shit to me after these last few years and he will fill a gaping hole in our structure.
 
Can't wait for the article to appear on melbournefc. Just feels better when you see it there for some reason. xD

Haha, yeah fair call... Just get jack of people being pessimistic about every move we make. Just an important acquisition for the club and will make a lot of players in our forward line better, like Clark, Howe and potentially Watts..
Not to mention getting a few more members to sign on and get some bums on seats.. Good day for the club!!
 
Why does everyone say '1 bad year'? I thought he was crap in 2011 too. Propped up by a gun midfield and defenders having a heap of focus on Cloke. I haven't looked at his stats from that year, but Collingwood are on TV a lot and I remember thinking repeatedly in 2011 that he was overrated.

Having said that, I:
a) Will be extremely happy if he becomes a very good player for us
b) Have faith in the coaching group to turn his form around
c) Am pleased that players are still willing to come to Melbourne, given the season we just had

Pick 20 and 45, for Dawes and 58. Our pick 20 was and end-of-first round compo pick (traded around from a few clubs.. Adelaide -> GWS -> Melb -> Coll, from memory).

Not unhappy with the trade hope the dollars they were quoting earlier today have been exaggerated though
