The big fellas going OK.
As you would expect coming off a low fitness base from injury he has started slowly.
However he is improving with each game and did some very good things v the Tiges.
He is one big mother and will get stronger and harder to move as he gains fitness - as the grounds start getting heavier his size will be a huge asset.

I sometimes wonder how he's still on our list. I think Brad Ottens did the same thing. Ruckman love drink-driving! His form in 2013 was decent before he got injured against the Saints. What annoys me is he struggles to run out the game, and doesn't offer that much other than tapping it out to the mids. He rarely kicks, and certainly doesn't kick many goals. We certainly have better options and I don't know how McIntosh wasn't ahead of him before he injured his calf. We need Todd Goldstein!

McIntosh wasn't ahead of him because McIntosh has no future at the club past this year. If we were a top 4 team then bringing him in late in the season to help us in finals would've made sense but there's nothing to be gained playing him ahead of Simpson and the moment.

Yeah good point, haven't looked at it that way! McIntosh really should've retired at the end of last year. Once he gets over his calf issue, he'll just be in the 2's, and he may play a few games at best in the 1's. So I guess it would make sense to develop Simpson hopefully into a number #1 ruck

No way he is going to do that , 3 year deal. So unless he gets an arrangement (which might have been possible if Read was a lot closer to ready and we needed him ) he is going to hang around and hope he can finally be his fittest at the right time of the year.
The unfortunate fact is he will continue to loo good in the VFL but he is no long athletic enough for AFL.
