What Dawson did was deliberate.

Lucky its only 2 weeks, as he was bleeding a fair bit.

...

I'm not surprised he got two weeks. I suggest he gets a hair cut as penance.

I think you should specify gets a hair-cut from a professional who knows what they're doing and stop doing it himself ... or at the very least turn the light on when he's doing it.

It looks like he's been going to the same place as Sheridan..

I like this. Although he will probably need another game at Peel - could be a handy backup if Johnson doesn't pull up in time.
No chance he's played half a game for ressies then week off, he will need a few games for peel before he'd get a crack

Yeah probably bit premature on my part, it would just be a massive shame for A. Pearce to lose his spot at the closing stages of the season when he's given so much.
I hope that the only criteria for team selection during the finals is to choose players who will give us the best chance of winning.

It is silly but my god we need that kind of aggression in the side right now, although obviously tempered a bit more.
Hope they fight it... Ask pav about his scar under his eye from judd elbow .. Stuff happens all the time...didn't see the GWS coach going on about it in his pressa, he just said it was bad luck- agree

It was obviuosly deliberate.. he would have known there was a chance to hurt him swinging the arm back like that. If someone did that to Fyfe we would all be livid.

This leaves us very vulnerable for the derby.

I'd hate to think what'd happen if Luke goes down with an injury or suspension during the Saints game.

I'm curious as to what Lyon thinks of this suspension, and Dawson's propensity to do stupid things in general.

I know he loves Dawson, and Lyon is a stickler for discipline - do you reckon there was a 'you idiot' moment when he saw Dawson's hit? It's quite amusing thinking about it. Do you think Lyon gives feedback to Dawson re the suspension? Are these actions / rule breaches scrutinized during team meetings/team analysis ?

I kind of wonder what Lyon is like behind closed doors, esp in regards to his personal & professional relationships with his players & how much these perspectives intertwine. He must be doing something right as he's a great motivator of men and gets fanatical loyalty from his players.

Could you ask more questions that won't get answered by anyone on this board?

I suspect we'd have the upper hand anyway- the Eagles' playing style doesn't bode well against us, it hasn't for years. Even with their personnel changes& natural development it's hard to see how they've changed things enough to win.

It's not like we can match the Eagles for KP talent anyway - we'd have been majorly outgunned and outsized vs them with or without Macca/Dawson - it's always been our midfield that made the difference.

Fyfe out would be a much bigger concern.

Most comments here regarding team strategies/philosophies are speculation anyway, but you're right we'd never get any answers to those queries. But it doesn't stop anyone here from making such thoughts, it takes a special type of person to waste time posting on a football fan forum.

You can ask Ross in person.

"It's not ideal. We don't want fit players unavailable due to suspension but that's the reality and we move on. Our defense is more than Zac and Zac wants to be playing so he is disappointed but we move onto St Kilda"

I know JC had a blood nose and all, but can we argue it wasn't high impact? He wasn't knocked unconscious. Other players (Buddy) have received less after sending people off the ground with concussion.

That being said, the game is all about image and perception, and blood is not a good look for the game. (Unless you're Joel campaigner Selwood, in which case you're lauded as some sort a legend.)

My 9 year old and I got to see it up close and his face was a mess. Probably bleed for days and may need surgery at the end the season or career. It was high impact.
