Well boys, what did you think of that. 5 on the trot and that was the hard part. The next 3 are easy.

Consolidated into the top 8 now and finals footy here we come.

The Eagles bubble has burst and were shown up by the doggies. We are far better than the doggies and we will really expose them next week. They will be shattered and thier season fall in a heap as a result. Then out of the finals nice and early.

Really looking forward to CC giving Woosha a coaching lesson, Seaby/Cox shown what rucking is about, the eagles midfield exposed/thrashed and above all the eagles defence trying to contain Pav and McPharlin. No chance.

Really hope we get them somewhere in the finals too and Freo will repeat the footy lesson.

It'll be interesting. They play Subiaco better than we do. The strengths of the two teams don't seem to line up, which means there should be mismatches all over the shop. Apparently the "away" team has won the last 6 derbies due to the "home" team travelling the week before. Good omen.

The thing I'm most looking forward too is the midefield contest. The Water Closets have the best in the competition, and I'd love to see how far off we are now that it is at full strength (assuming Des is in).

With Embley and possibly Stenglein not playing in the derby their midfield isn't as good as it was earlier in the season, which exposes their weaknesses at both ends. With Sandilands in much better form than he was in the first derby, and Cox also under an injury cloud, I'm confident we will perform well through the centre of the ground.

Friday night's weather is supposedly going to be shocking, with our advantage with talls being negated to a degree i wouldnt be surprised if a Smith or a Mcmanus got a look in. On the other side though with the ground being a bit heavy it will also cut West Coast pace advantage thru the midfield. Going to be a intresting derby, form means little there normally 50/50.

I want to see the most maddening tagging game ever. Walker on Judd, Dodd on Cousine Cousine, Josh Carr on Kerr, and Cook on Fletcher. If you can shut the four of them down -- which is a lot harder than it sounds -- then their V8 will be running on 4 cyclinders.

That leaves our forward line to kick 16 goals. If we can do that we'll win.

Noone's done it yet this year. Even the Bulldogs (they tried something different). Certainly noone's come close to doing it on the spaces of Subiaco.

If the Dockers dish up the setup they had at stoppages against the Slime as they had against the Tigers they'll get smashed,

They couldn't buy a clean clearance V Tigers until the game was over late in the last Q.

its about time Malaxos started earning his money!!

We only have to break even with their midfield to be abig chance.

That's right. It's all up to our midfield. We definitely have more potency up forward than the Eagles.

Hi guys, good luck on friday night, ive tipped your boys to win. IMHO you dont need to break even in the midfield, just have a presence there to beat the eagles, you have possibly the best running back in the league atm, in black. If Black plays a great game and along with midfielders like schammer and des who can put the ball into your forward line, pavlich, the wiz and co will pick apart west coasts shizen housen defence.

GO FREO!

Cox is injured isn't he? If so then Sandilands and Longmuir should dominate in the ruck which means our midfielders should be able to get first use of it which means we could very well not only draw even but win out of the midfield.

If Cox is injured then (amazing what I'm about to say, coming from me of all people) we should win.

I'd sooner Cox be fully fit and ready to go. Sandilands is stepping up and will soon be overtaking Justin as the number 1 ruckman. He's finally doing the little things. On the weekend he tackled someone, who Bell was also trying to tackle, the big fella wrapped his arms around both of them and swung them both to ground. Monstered the both of em.

Cox is no midget, but I'd like to see Sandi dominate a game like this and really earn some respect, not just for himself but the team.

Bring on Friday!

The performance against the Dogs had been coming for a while and highlighted our major weakness - a dodgy foward set up.

We were flat and heavy legged, probably as a result of hard training. Dogs beat us at our own game and did very well playing a direct style of play. Uncharacteristically we failed to tackle, didn't run hard enough, didn't man up and our skills were well below what we've maintained for most of the year. We've been hit with both serious and niggling injuries to some key players and we've dropped our rating signficantly since the break.

But rumours of our demise are greatly exaggerated.

Six weeks ago we were out and gone. All the "howlers" were calling for blood and you were one of them.

I am a CC fan as he has done a great job. The club is financially sound and has a good squad. He also has Freo peaking at the right time and has them into the 8.

The Eagles are very beatable and Freo will be do it this weekend.

Freo will be playing finals footy. What more do you want!!!!!

This is a strange derby, or outcome at least to pick.

The Eagles are undoubtedly the best at playing subiaco. With runners such as theirs the delivery and style of ball coming in is better than any other team in the cometition can produce. They have recently run into a grey area of intrigue. Injuries to key players, Embley, Stenglein, Steggles and such have made it difficult to assess how welll the eagles are travelling. Losses to the bulldogs and Sydney are to be expected. They play a different game of footy, are at their home ground and earmarked it in as their grandfinal. For that, as freo supporters we are thankful.

I am also grateful that the game only has a six day break. The travelling team obviously has the harder slog.

For Freo the result of Des' tough guy act should not be viewed as a waste as we have all be been crying out for him to play like he means it and the past two weeks he has. If he has to sit on the sidelines so be it.

Sandilands is leading and marking, marking contested balls and throwing his frame and physicallity into contests. Bell is producing some form as are returnees Walker and Carr. Hase is actually playing a few good games and Crowley, Grover, Munday, Dodd et al. are playing above their station.

I have missed the obvious ones in Pav and Phar Lap. Pav is playing like we have written hin up all along and Phar Lap is playing as well as the Hawkers supporters feared he would when they said "I'm not so devasted at Croad going as I am with McPharlin."

So A close derby I am expecting (sound like yoda, me). West Coast to win by ten points. Judd and Sampi to provide the X factor that we cannot go with.
