Yeah, but unlike 99.99% of kids from these backgrounds, Garlett had a gift-wrapped opportunity to get out of that environment. So many people never get a single break in life...they'd be on their knees begging for any ray of hope to get out. He just about had it handed to him on a plate and he pissed it all away.

That's what makes him a deadshit.

I know many have said Hawks were the best side for him etc, but he needed to be picked up by a lower side and get given games.

Not only has he had a rough up bringing, he has also had people piss in his pocket telling him how good a footballer he is and that's his ticket to change his life.

Once he got to Hawks and they said work your butt off and we'll see what happens, he was always bound to give it up.

If he was gifted games he may have seen what was required to play AFL. He may have even just walked in and been serviceable.

I have no doubt he would've felt he could play better then half the Hawks squad.

Josh Simpson from Freo is similar without all the nasty habits.

Just an attitude that makes them feel they are entitled.
