You have said this on a number of occassions 76 and for the most part I agree with you. I currently have THATSGOLD on ignore. I don't like having anyone on ignore because it totally stuffs up the flow of a thread, particularly with a poster like THATSGOLD who posts frequently and gets a lot of responses.

I don't have an issue with people who think Bucks is a poor coach or that we should have kept Mick, but in the case of THATSGOLD he uses this view to consistently derail threads. In my opinion that is trolling and he should be asked to moderate his approach. If he would agree to focus his views on Buckley to the one thread I would happily remove him from my ignore list. Something needs to be done and I'm pretty sure I am not the only person who thinks this.
It's not just him though, there 5 or 6 that do it frequently. I've had enough of the dooms day crap.

An option on the table now might be Orourke coming into the deal.

If Pies got 4 and ORourke they would have to take it (albeit I am only 50:50 on him)
GWS would get Patfull but probably need something else
Lions obviously get Beams but would give pick 4 and maybe something else.

Re talk of a Lions 2nd round pick, I really doubt whether the 2nd round selection will be on the table as they will need that for the abundance of Academy kids they will want to take this year (Andrews, Dawson, Hammelman etc) so unless the AFL is happy for those to kick in from Rd 3 (which I dont think the rules allow for) then highly unlikely as Dawson would get bid in the 2nd round and in fact all of them could be. Lions will wants Rd 2, 3 and 4 for sure.

I seem to be stuck in a time-warp that i just can't get out of or maybe it's a carousel I just can't get off.

None the less we keep seeing the same arguments and trades posted every few minutes. Why not just keep bumping original posts, would make it a shit load easier.

Deep breath, no point getting frustrated but am really keen to hear any new information or possible trade scenarios that haven't been mentioned over the last 155 pages multiple times. I'm not interested in the pick 4 take it or leave or pick 4 & Aish or he stays rubbish.

I wonder if Sam Reid could be involved in deal that would see Luenberger go to Sydney. I thought I heard Horse mention they were on the lookout for a new ruckman and maybe there's an option to move pick 4 and Reid to Collingwood, Beams to Brisbane and Luey & pick to Swans.

I think a lot depends also on what picks are available after academy and FS picks are allocated. When does this occur?

Let's keep the thread progressing.

I'm not sure how engaging GWS is going to satisfy the Bigfooty board and Collingwood.

If they aren't willing to trade any young players our way, they certainly won't trade them to GWS to try and get us a Hoskin-Elliott type.

GWS have a compensation pick at 20, So i guess they could trade Patfull and 24 and upgrade to Pick 20 but i think that's unlikely that upgrading their pick by 4 places is really going to be the sticking point.

Really unsure how a 3rd party will help in this situation as they only have pick 4 and 24 and a massive list of players that are apparently un-tradeable.

Grundy and Broomhead look like a pretty bloody right call. Our top draft picks have gone alright the last 10 years. I don't think Hine's lost the ability to discover talent
We draft well. Drafting quality is always subject to what is available though. Drafting by Hine is not the decision making I was referring to but in any case our immediate drafting won't help us much in the next 2 years.

I just choked on my twisties there, please warn me when you post something like that ...

Draft / Trade got fantastic Bang for Buck
We draft well. The decision to bring in Hines was a very good one but made a long time ago. Letting Hine do his job isn;t decision making it is a non negoatiable par for the course. We trade poorly though these days adn that's not even the important decision making in the context of where we are right now.

I think Orourke wanting to go to Melbourne and Patfull keen to get to GWS might be an option for Lions to broker a deal that gets Collingwood where it wants to without the Lions having to give up 'one of their untouchables'. How you would construct am not sure but would think satisfying GWS for ORourke half the battle. Probably the bit that brings it undone.

Lions have confirmed that Merrett has attracted a lot of interest and is thinking about the idea of moving. He would probably be quite useful to a number of clubs but has kinda stagnated a little with with us. Trading him may give us something of some value to you guys.

We have young key defenders who need game time. Merrett is exactly the sort of player we don't need. If you want Beams you are going to have to give up a young player.

[Sigh] I don't mean trading him to you.
My apologies, I misunderstood your post. I wouldn't think you would get much for Merrett, certainly not enough to get the Beams deal done. I imagine we would want a player that has shown good potential with at least 50 games played. Got anyone that fits that description?

Yeah not alone, but we might be able to say upgrade our pick 22 to 16 or something along those sorts of lines. That sort of thing would not be a deal in itself, it just gives us a little more potential flexibility.

Derek Hine on trade radio

- Hine wasn't surprised that Beams was leaving
- Haven't spoken to Dean Warren at Brisbane yet
- Going to take a little bit more than pick 4
- Hine alluded to trading pick 4 and a lions player to bring in a ready made player from a third party.
- Reiterated that he is contracted, Lions need to do the work to attain him.
- Formal offer to Clark, Geelong are in the mix for his services, hopeful that we can bring him in, potentially involved with a straight swap for Lumumba. Happy with his medical completed.
- Haven't spoken to Tyrone Vickery and don't plan to.
- Paul Seedsman required player
- Don't want to be reactive, have an age profile they want to stick to. If there is a big bodied midfielder up for grabs we will entertain them.
- Sam Blease not in our discussions
- Darcy Moore obviously will be nominated, will assess Darcy if he is rated at Pick 8. Hine hasn't put his top 8 together yet. Well played you wily fox.

What is clear is that Brisbane have a lot of work to do to satisfy Collingwood. If they continue down the "pick 4 only" path the deal will not get done.

Great summary UI.
I'd hate to play poker with him or negotiate - there's just no emotion.

Dude it's our opening claim, no one is seriously suggesting that will be enough. You said you wanted Danger, that isn't happening either. The two teams will get it sorted.
