You've got to hand it to Hine. He's basically saying to Brisbane that if they want to talk about Beams then they have to come with something. At this point it seems he's totally ignoring anything said in the media because there has been no offer communicated to Collingwood. At the same time he's making it clear that they may as well not even pick up the phone if they are offering pick 4.

Anyone know whether Aish has re-committed with Brisbane?

If he hasn't you have to wonder how Brisbane confidently stand on the digs with the GH5 fresh in the mind.

They have the currency now to secure a rolled gold mid-fielder this year. It seems a fair risk to let that ride for 12 months. They would need to know Beams' mind and Aish's mind to do that.

Joel Patfull wants out of Brisbane, apparently to GWS.

Here we go, bring GWS into the Beams deal, give them pick 4 and Patfull, Brisbane get Beams and we get a few choice GWS mids.

Aish has recommitted yet. This has been noted by Brisbane as a big priority and to me sets the tone for trades to come. From what I can gather they are hoping to secure him very soon, but the longer it draws on, the more speculation will build about where he ends up.

Some quality there also. I would love Treloar but won't happen. I'd even have a crack at Toby Greene, kids got some go about him but wouldnt fit in the Buckley mould I imagine.

can you explain this snoop, i thought the rules were that so long as no one bid on one of those kids before their pick at 24 then they could be taken from the 3rd round onwards?
Thats true but a couple of those kids could be in the mix to be selected before that #24 selection. There are huge wraps on each of them. I would think if Harris Andrews were there at 24 a few clubs would think about him.

Brisbane's outgoings is reaching Beams value.
It doesn't necessarily equate to an acceptable result for us but it certainly gives scope to open the options a little more. Can't help but think that a few Brisbane players are seeing a little window of opportunity right now.

May be losing experience but not too sure about the quality.
It's like nobody here watches any games apart from Collingwoods.

Patfull is an experienced quality defender, albeit 30 years old. He won the Lions best and fairest in 2012 and 2013.

Has 2-3 years in him, so value isn't very high but his experience is invaluable. If they package 24 and Patfull to another club they could get something in return that we are interested in.

We better not be going near either of Patfull or Merrett

I admit we need experience, but not guys who are old enough to have played at Fitzroy

Don't think they are suggesting that we take Patfull/Merrett, more that they could be involved in deals to bring picks/players to us along with Pick 4.

Dude it's our opening claim, no one is seriously suggesting that will be enough. You said you wanted Danger, that isn't happening either. The two teams will get it sorted.
Except there is a difference between starting negotiations with "this is my offer", and starting them with "this is my only offer - you aren't getting any more... I'll just walk away" - which is what I'm hearing coming out of the Brisbane camp in the media. (I would hope that's not how their actual offer goes behind closed doors - because that will end very quickly and Dayne will have another year in Melbourne... but I don't see the point of coming out so strongly in the media... compare it to Hines/Bucks who have been careful to be very vague but also open to discussion - which is how the public side of these things should go until you are close to a deal)
