Agree.
Get lost Browndog.
Show some respect where you are mate!
I believe I have been, and in line with that, have changed my avatar (which was FWIW about being excited about potentially getting Beams, not to incite angst).

Cheers.

I actually think pick 4 and Aish is probably a bit much to ask, not by much mind you. Using Aish as the example but same would apply to Maze and any othr top 10 picks in the mix IMO.

So how do you fix something like that up? Do we swap our second round for their third to bring it back into whack?

That's the usual way, also depends if how interested Adelaide is.

Not necessarily Dangerfield but their picks also.

Don't come onto our board with a picture of Dayne Beams in your picture and expect to play nice.

You are overstaying your welcome with your posting tone and picture.
Browndog is a old school troll. Use to spend a lot of time in the bay and was very good at trolling Carlton supporters, until the Fevola trade and his threads backfired.
I have no doubt he is getting a kick from every Collingwood supporters anxiety regarding Beams choice to leave.

So Brisbane wants to give us just pick 4, we want pick 4 + a gun player, I would expect the outcome will be something in the middle.
Yep, for all the discussion and debate that has happened since Thursday, that was the clearly likely outcome then, and still is today.

I don't anticipate any new revelation or insight until the Father son & Academy bidding takes place on Friday and we find out whether our second round pick is in play - FWIW, I think we will still have it afterwards. I reckon our academy players have been overrated again this year just like Conway and Tickner were last year.

If we retain that second rounder after bidding, I suspect Collingwood will ask us to start doing our best to upgrade it (potentially by offloading Merrett to an expansion club). If we can get that 24 into a pick into the late teens alongside 4/5, the options for getting third parties involved is increased.

If I had to guess, based on Collingwood's desire for players with some development under the belt, I reckon some GWS talent is going to come your way.

No even close to a sensible proposition. After the 2011 GF we should have pushed hard to win a flag or two with a still young and high calibre list. Even then a mix of the present and future has to be on the radar. Right now we are not in that ballpark so we'd have a different trading strategy, particularly when Beams goes.
It wasn't a high calibre list. It had some very high calibre players but by start of 2012 the core group of mature players were on the decline. Jolly, Ball, Maxwell, Johnson, Didak, Brown were all going backwards. Measure that list against the Hawks or Swans of today and you can see while we were competitive in 2012 we were not a serious threat.

People are confused by the fact that the team was young and therefore they think it should have continued to improve. The reality is the core was ageing and other teams have gone past us. While our mature core has declined Hawthorn's has just kept going strong with Hodge, Jewis and Mitchell the top three on the weekend.

If we had of pushed for another premiership it would have cost us some of Grundy, Kennedy, Broomhead, Sharon and Freeman. I understand the 2010-11 list has achieved mythical status for some supporters but it is just not warranted. Good team, great game plan well executed, but not a great team list.

If Brisbane start using this 'we will just wait when hes uncontracted' Its Quite rude if you ask me, the bloke wants to go home and they decide to take the selfish root waiting till hes out of contract.

We have the cards, Hine is smarter, Hine is stronger, Hine is Hine.

Is that really much different to Collingwood hinting at holding Beams to his contract and forcing him to stay? It's all huff and puff that I doubt either side has any inclination to follow through on.

It seems to me that sort of bravado is for the fans and no one else. No list manager worth their salt would be seriously swayed by it.

Talking is fine, it's the jumping down people's throats every time they open their mouths that gets a bit much. ;)

Very much understand people are emotional, it's a super tough time for you guys.
At risk of stating the obvious...people around here are a bit upset about losing Beams. Many of us still vividly recall 2002 and 2003 and the thought of losing him to your club hurts a bit. Forgive us for getting a little emotional but this is OUR BOARD!

Just as we may be getting a kick out of Collingwood willing to make them sweat.
Have seen very good Bay trolls also be very good serious posters. It took a while for me to get my head around it.
Browndog has been ok so far. No issue.

Has anyone from Brisbane actually come out and said they will only offer pick 4? It appears there are allot of news paper articles with no quotes and suggestions as to what will happen. I think it is all smoke and mirrors, Pies are telling there fans we will get a good deal and Brisbane doing the same to theirs.
I could live Pick 4 and a Top 20 Pick (or equivalent player) and with that I still think Brisbane are getting a very good deal

You're right and he is ok, but personally i'll always be cautious when reading a post of a well known Bay troll.

Agree 100%, relative strengths of Hawks v Cats directly maps to the strength of their core players.
