Well, Clubs don’t want Members like you anyway then
Get nicked.

I go week in and week out and have done since the mid 90's when we were at our lowest ebb. I believe in a club making a statement and sticking by it.

I want to know why a player in the peak of his powers is about to leave the club. Is it money? Is it the coach? Is it the family? I just want transparency.

I'm not going to put money into a club that treats it's members a fools.

I emailed Gary Pert. Said I won't renew my legends membership if they go back on their word given on Friday. Have been a member for 20 + years so it's not a decision I took lightly.
Similar feelings here, at the least I will cancel the auto-renew and see how I feel next year.

Embarrassingly I've never had a membership with the club as I lived in NT and now NSW and couldn't see full value in it. However now you've inspired me to finally take one out to negate yours.

Hine is "smarter than the average bear"

I think if he does this trade then he already has pick 5 earmarked for another trade with a club for an "established player" hence it would give us what we asked for in the 1st place. If the deal goes through today then i would be even more confident in this as it gives him 3 days to negotiate with that team to take Pick 5 for player X

Then he will say well we asked for an established player to replace beams but as bris were unwilling to give us that, we just used the pick 5 they gave us to wrench player X from team X. Therefore we now have what we said we would accept in our statement, it just meant we needed to get a 3rd club involved to achieve that as bris were unwilling to get a 3rd team involved.

Even if this is not the case, teams know that we were chasing a player, with 2-3 days left in trade period, they will come at us with an offer for pick 5 that would be too hard to refuse. I am 100% confident of this!

Have to agree. The club shouldn't have said anything if there was still a chance of a deal to Brisbane getting done. We will look piss weak to accept a below par offer now.

Jay Clarke said on SEN this morning that Crisp "is working on his kicking".

Far out. We don't need a spud like him. I will be very disappointed if the rumours turn out to be true.

No 40 in the Rookie Draft BTW!
Real world translation - "he will never improve his kicking as if he could of he obviously would have by now."

I can't actually believe how many people there are in this world who fall for the "all X player has to do is improve their kicking" like it's easily fixed. We get it every year with punters claiming Cloke, etc will improve. Doesn't happen.

If Crisp ends up at Collingwood we have yet again found ourselves another player who can't kick and NEVER will. What is it about our fascination with midgets with crappy disposal skills??

A footnote on Crisp's kicking is he kicked at 89% (which I think was top 10) at his combine testing. I've tended to think any kicking issues so far has been about composure rather than pure technical deficiencies -- but that remains to be seen.

this makes the most sense. HIne must have other trade options ready to deal with pick 5 in hand, otherwise this deal stinks if done by itself

The way things are going maybe we'll trade pick 5 to the dogs for Adam Cooney........Just a light hearted joke.

Although maybe with Griffen wanting out and Cooney looking at going to North we are looking at a way to get Griffen to Collingwood along with Greenwood and Cooney to North.

Nah the dogs are talking tough. Saying something about unprecedented compensation.

Good pick up..

Does this work.
Pies get 5, 23, Greenwood, Varcoe & Crisp, lose pick 30, "H" and Beams
Lions get Bundy & Beams, lose 5, 21 & 25
North get 25 & lose Greenwood.
Cats get Clarke & lose Bundy
Demons get "H" and pick 30 and lose pick 23

If correct, we started out with pick 30, Beams & "H".
Now we have 5 & 23, Greenwood, Varcoe & Crisp

And you need to add in that Geelong lose varcoe

Where does pick 21 go? I assume to Geelong?

Don't go doing anything rash.
Wait and see how the trade period ends on Thursday and they make a call as to whether are better off.
I'll be following suit if it goes through as reported.

"Negotiations between the Collingwood Football Club and the Brisbane Lions over Dayne Beams CEASED at 5pm on Friday evening"

We were lied to and unfortunately I can't support the current administration because of it.

Could be something like:

GWS
Gain: Griffen, pick 30
Lose: Pick 4, Shiel

Collingwood
Gain: Shiel
Lose: Pick 5

Dogs
Gain: Pick 4, pick 5
Lose: Griffen

Do we have pick 30 or am I imagining that? Meh..

Off the back of some errors being detected, I've changed it to this..

Pies get 5, 21, Greenwood, Varcoe & Crisp, lose pick 30, "H" and Beams
Lions get Bundy & Beams, lose 5, 21 & 25
North get 25 & lose Greenwood.
Cats get Clarke & pick 30 and lose Bundy and Varcoe
Demons get "H" and pick 30

If correct, we started out with pick 30, Beams & "H".
Now we have 5 & 21, Greenwood, Varcoe & Crisp

Pick 21 is traded from Lions to Cats for Bundy.
Cats trade it to Demons for Clark & they trade it to us for "H"

Does that one work?
