I changed it so Cats get pick 30, may well be 23 though:thumbsu:
I doubt the cats will go for that. Fairly sure they won't accept pick 30 for Christensen when Brisbane has offered pick 21 already.
Maybe we need to send 23 to cats and we hang onto pick 30?
Then maybe package pick 5 and 30 for an established players is anyone decent comes on the market

Doesn't look like the spin is coming from my direction!
Your ******* kidding me yeah?

You're actually stating that I'm spinning things to manipulate a situation to have the club lie to me so that I can justify not renewing my membership??!

Deadset now I've heard it all!!

Like I said. point out a direct link to the lie! There isn't one because the club did not lie. Because you read something into the statement that wasn't there does not make it a lie!

Still another 3 days to go. Has GC contacted Collingwood?
Maybe we should have taken a leaf out of the dogs book and gone after a few GC players and got them to declare they wanted to come to the Pies.

Would have made things interesting but its more important for us to be the nice guys of the AFL. We can't be bastards, might damage Ed's media career.

H has been mentioned by Emma Q, as direct swap for Greenwood. Varcoe for pick 30.

Not great, but not terrible.
I'd rather H for Greenwood, keep pick 30 cos the player we draft will be better then varcoe (even if it is a weak draft)
And make Brisbane come up with another pick with pick 5 and 25, and make Brisbane keep their own list clogger.

Personally, nothing I've seen mooted makes up for losing Beams.

Yet we seem to be contemplating it. And most of our tough talk appears to be talk.

Conclusion: Whatever we may say, making Beams stay is not an option and we know it. Which suggests the relationship has completely broken down.

This is a damage limitation exercise.

Are we all up in arms about nothing just yet?

Can someone link me to something that shows that we are more advanced in a trade with Brisbane now, than where we were Friday? Serious question as all I've seen is rumour and innuendo which has created Pie eat Pie.

5, Greenwood + Crisp is close to fair value for a player that desperately wants out for various reasons.

Boyd for Griffen is shit trading by GWS. Highly rated 20yo KPF, no1 pick vs. injured 28yo midfielder.

A Boyd is much more rare on the market than a Griffen.

If the Dogs get Griffen for Boyd as a straight swap, it has nothing to do with our trading ability and everything to do with GWS' inability.

I'd settle for 5, 25 and Crisp. Or Essentially 5, Greenwood and Crisp.
But the reality is this

Pick 5 = Lucky Dip prize

Greenwood = C grade midfielder

Crisp = D grade at best. Has not been able get on the park for Brisbane FFS and will spend 2 years on our list before we realise we cannot afford another hack with poor foot skills. Ir won't be until we hit rock bottom in the next 12-24 months to realise our list management and trading has been woeful and this is another example.

Long time member and support of over 45 years and am just gutted with this

Folks, take a breath in regards to comparing us potentially getting shafted compared to what the Doggies get for Griffen. The two trades are not comparable as different clubs are involved. It is just our tough luck that Beams has only nominated Brisbane and they are playing this very well. GWS have more that they are able to offer the Doggies, then Brisbane do to us. All our anger/disappointment should be directed at A:Beams for only wanting to be traded to Brisbane, thus screwing us and B: Brisbane as it is evident that there was likely discussions of him going there during the season, thus screwing us.

AT the end of the day, it is one trade and life will go on, just means there are now two ex Collingwood players we can hate that are playing or other teams. The other being Daisy.

28 year old Griffen is gonna land the Dogs Tom Boyd.
24 year old Beams is gonna get us Jack Crisp and Greenwood.

Hey Buckley/Hine, you're doing it wrong!
Pick 5 ???? and I'm not saying Creme boy helps the deal.

Perhaps we all need to relax until the deal is done. Goingh off half cocked is crazy. If the deal gets done, go nuts.

I'll wait until end of trade period, as pick 5 may have some grand plans, who knows.

I think you're being a little hard on Greenwood. He has shown that with opportunity and the right role he can easily meet B-Grade midfield tier and may be able to develop further.

No way will GWS swap Boyd for Griffen, although they appear to be agreeable to trade their pick 4 & another 1st rounder for him? End result, Dogs will get a better deal for Griffen compared to Pies for Beams.
Doesn't matter how people spin it...we are the losers this trade period (if it goes down like that).

Maybe and I hope so. But 1 good season does not make a career. Seen plenty of average players have a break out year never to be seen or heard again. Just seems to be a dud deal IMO.

If we do end up with Greenwood and the other spud from Brisbane then I will support them but feel like we have been let down by the administration.
