Dees want Harry. Should've just swapped a pick with him.

Greenwood to Collingwood for that pick.

Not sure why the Beams deal needs to get done with those.
If you think dees would give us 23 for Harry your off your head. I can't believe anyone wants him. 23 is what we would have needed for greenwood . That's why we needed this deal to go through. Also you don't know what other deAls he could have planned.

Crisp was taken as a rookie and upgraded to to senior list. He is a senior player.
Draft position in this analogy though, is completely irrelevant and seems to have gone over your head.
So Crisp is now a pick 30 or 40
In this draft Id hate to see what the other Brisbane players are bringing.

That Brisbane list might be the greAtest of all time.

Last year draft is very different to this year draft this year there a top 4 players and i see him going to pick 4 due to the foot injury he had but not any lower than that i would love to be wrong but
Every draft is different but there are similarities between this years crop and last years and in part the year before.

The thought of Bontempelli last year 6 weeks out from the ND being chosen before Shaz or Aish was unthinkable by most.

Lever, Laverde and Durdin I feel will firm this year and whilst I believe Wright is still top 4 most thought that to be the case with Grundy in 2012.

Much water.

Brisbane LIST is the GREATEST to ever finish 15th.. Bunch of Turnips running around with a couple of decent players.
How dare you talk about the untouchables like that. I demand you to apologise right now!

Really mate? The poster came in with a respectable point of view and you respond as if he stole your school money.
Cheers, otfc42 - won't be responding to the other one!

It is evident that the Lions are winners this time around in this particular trade (a minority might disagree), but as another poster said a few pages back - it's been a bit of a perfect storm of things that has brought it to this for the Pies.

If Beams wanted to go to a different club, you might have come out on top. It's just the (bad) luck of the draw at this particular time. It was the only way that a mature-bodied player was going to get there with North and Geelong holding out for their specific picks.

Hopefully those guys - Varcoe and Greenwood - can provide some above-average performances in the coming years.

Ramsay would not command a pick between 30 and 40 in a trade with what he's shown so far.
As I said before, the players draft position is irrelevant when determining their current value.
Crisp and Ramsay would get you a third or fourth round pick at best on their own right now.

Let's face it, Ramsay was on the verge of being delisted. He's lucky our list is weaker than it is.

As for Brisbane I don't care where you rate crisp in this draft but he would most likely have been delisted within 3 years no matter where he goes.

Can I have Brisbanes delistings for the past two years? Maybe you could make a case for Raines.

Hell had they kept Lisle for one more year he would be heading out way too no doubt.

I want the Lions to win, but that doesn't mean I want everyone else to suffer in their jocks.

It won't go well for the Lions in future trades if this is seen as a huge burn in trade terms. Swings and roundabouts.
I don't have second teams. I'd be happy to Brisbane fall flat on his face with Beams leading the Leppo downfall.

And that was my point. Using Crisp as a sweetener just leaves a bitter taste in the mouth...

If someone had suggested pick 25 for Greenwood last year then people would have called for the doctor.

This year most would feel Greenwood is a good buy at 25 and happy to pay it.

Greenwood is proof that the fortunes of players can turn around on the back of one good season and whilst last year he would have been considered nothing more than a VFL level player if offered for trade now he's seen as an all but certain best 22 player.

If Crisp comes to the pies let's give him a full season or two to judge his worth shall we before we write him off as a spud.

A lot can change in a year.

The bigger issue going forward will be the reaction to what, lets face it, seems to be a perfectly orchestrated poaching expedition, initiated by Brisbane. Lets not con ourselves, this has been brewing for a while, and done in a fashion calculated to **** us over. Congratulations, well played.

Swings and roundabouts; I would be desperately disappointed if we dont look at some point down the track in inducing one of yours to require an immediate return to melbourne, on purely compassionate grounds of course, and miraculously nominate only Collingwood as a destination.

Swings and roundabouts. This has the prospect of unleashing a whirwind on you, and the more you force a win-lose, the more antagonism you store for the future. I hope this may be a tactical victory and stragtegic defeat. But definitely enjoy it while it lasts.
