Traded Dayne Beams [traded with #41 and #43 to Collingwood for #18, #56 and future 1st round pick]

If you just look at the trade assets themself, this is 100% a win for Brisbane.

The reason this got us over the line is how useless pick 18 is for us this year, every other club values pick 18 more than us, and it because of us having 2 academy/FS players in Quaynor and Kelly that we're especially interested in.

Kelly is a young intercepting CHB
Quaynor is a more skillful version of Murray and just as bad, but the best part is he doesn't do drugs

We've avoided massive values lost in giving up pick 18 for Quaynor, 80% of the value saved went to Brisbane, 20% went to us.

Overall it's a win-win, but Brisbane won more than we did. The same could've been said about the 2014 Beams trade, however,
De Goey + Crisp + Greenwood probably makes bears supporters weep every night knowing what they gave up.

Maybe one day Rayner could be remotely close to De Goey if all goes well for him.

Pretty decent deal for Brisbane given that they got Neale, but FMD how bad does this make their 2014 trade?

Not that bad. He gave us good service when fit, sat through the garbage and helped change the culture. The initial deal only looks bad because Collingwood can draft and develop talent well. I think we're proving now that we can too, and two firsts will help.

I'm only annoyed that he took the front ended years and pissed off once he was coming to the lower years. That's life.

Dam we have some talent running through the middle!

The All Australian Midfield should just be Collingwood's midfield.

It's going to be a royal laugh watching Dustin Martin try his fend offs on that lot.
11 of his 21 games this year with at least 1 goal and 27 possessions. Imagine what he’ll do with the likes of Treloar, Pendles and Adams taking some heat off.

Yes,especially with the Collingwood umpiring troupe.

Clearly the dude is not OK but understand Lions fans being underwhelmed off the back of the BnF declarations.

Hope the picks and Neale help somewhat.

The resounding lesson of this trade period is that players need to choose their words better. Beams just unintentionally hit Brisbane for 6 by saying his heart had always been with Collingwood ... hoops

Yeah I totally understand why Beams and his wife would have like to return to Melbourne to be around their main support network now Dayne’s father has passed. But those comments don’t sit well with me.

Happy with how the trade played out though.

I think Coll overpaid given his age but if Quaynor is bid before 18 then that mitigates it a bit as 41 and 44 are about the same in points meaning they really only then give up a 2019 R1 + 56 which is probably roughly fair.

If only they had one defender as good as any of those mids.

For him to say his heart was always with Collingwood ten seconds after being traded back is a bit of a kick in the guts! Not only didn’t thank Brisbane but thanked Collingwood for letting him go to Brisbane 4 years ago. Ah well, what’s done is done.
