Rather have Ball and Beamsy it screws with our rotational depth especially with Bucks keeping Wellers out of the midfield until he thinks he's ready to ramp up the minutes there.
He was BOG, why he didn't get the medal is stupid

Who selects the medal winner?

I honestly believed when we lost ball we could not win the comp. Then i tried to find replacement. It was Blair and beams.

both have lifted. i know Blair didn't play tonight.

In summary, i am now thinking we can win this year.

Side by side.

Beams best game ever.

He's now officially a "steal" at pick 29, even though the draft class looks pretty good in hindsight.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008_AFL_Draft

He won a ball on the wing in front of us with about 6-7 minutes to go, beating 3 Dogs players in a contest and giving it out, it was brilliant stuff that sealed the win.

Steele was great also IMO, both are becoming consistent, elite AFL midfielders.:D

Clear BOG. Pendlebury had a great game but Dayne was more consistent across the four quarters. He also seemed to have more impact than any of our other mids. 11 tackles to boot, and good ones!!

He has it all in his kit, when you consider all rounds attributes, he is as close to compete as you could want. It is also ridiculous how strong he has become over the footy. There were at least two times tonight when he was crouched over the footy, an opposition player ran into him to bowl him over and not only did it not budge him but he was able to stand up mid-tackle and dish the ball off to a team mate. It was Swan like.

Sidebottom is becoming a great player as well. We did so well in that draft.

When the heat was on and we needed someone to get their hands on the ball and win those tight contests, it was Beams who stood up.

Sidebottom also set the tone early when he was doing it alone too until the others decided to chip in.

Both these guys look to have taken it to the next level.

The player, who isn't benefiting so much from this right now is Wellingham. We've heard and we've seen him play the majority of games in a "new forward role" but IMO he does his best work inside traffic with his ability to his the contest on the move and full tilt and with his evasive powers. He hasn't yet been given enough valuable midfield minutes like Beams or Sidebottom or even Blair for that matter.

Bucks needs to add Wellingham in the midfield rotations alot more than what he is currently using him IMO. He is far too valuable not to have him in the midfield mix- particularly as a centre square player.

I think Beams is a player in the mold of Jimmy Bartel. Quality player, with really excellent all round skills, but for whatever reason always seems to live in the shadows of more illustrious teammates. I think that may be how it plays out, even if he keeps his current standard of play up for the rest of the season.

Eleven tackles was awesome especially on the light that he was dropped last year allegedly because of a perceived lack of defensive pressure iirc.

Agree with others, he and Steele at 11 and 29 are looking decent picks :)

I only realised today that beams is out of contract this year. So by my reckoning it is cloke, Reid, sidey, beams, ball, obrien, goldy, fasolo and caff all definitely out of contract this season.

Then i am not sure about players like wellingham and others.

Geoff Walsh has a big job on his hands.

Beams is off contract, Don't be suprised if Suns make a play for him. Local with all his family in the area.

The trade could be Caddy?

While we've got you here, what has happened to Danny Stanley? Is he injured?

I actually spoke to Danny last week. He said he would be back for the GWS game provided he came through unscathed v NT Thunder in the NEAFL which he did.

Also have heard Clayton our recruitment manager is going to chase Beams hard. Not sure how much a chance it is of happening but Collingwood could well get something good in exchange. Perhaps Caddy/Toy?

Lions also maybe in the mix for him but Suns have more to offer.

Yes I read the Lions were interested in having him play with brother and there was also a lot of speculation about which of your guns you might lose to salary cap pressure but like ourselves these are only speculations it is only our list managers who know our true positions but it does not stop the rumours.
