I'd like to make some observations -

1. Geelong won't beat Hawthorn's 11 win streak between 1985 - 1991.
2. Geelong haven't beaten Hawthorn in a grand final in nearly 50 years.
3. Geelong are a bottom 8 side these days and never went back to back during their "dynasty".

Wonderful, thanks for taking the time to detail it.
Just so you know though-I don't care:
1.If Geelong don't beat anybody in their premierships.
2. If Geelong don't go back to back.
3. If Geelong don't get a dynasty.
4. If no one remembers us in 50 years.

Now can you observe why that might be the case old fella?

Cool, but Hawthorn are shit and can't beat us.

You can tell how this thread just aggravates the Hawks supporters every time it's bumped. The accumulated rage of 8 close losses must just eat away at them, especially how prior to every encounter, they talk themselves up as certainties before we bring it all crashing down.

Hawthorn are a mentally weak side and this group will never come close to achieving what Geelong of 2007-11 did.

Despite all of your knocks and pathetic trolling about dynasties and back-to-back, I'm sure any club would take our last 5 years in a heartbeat. No team has dominated the modern competition like we have.

1989 GF butthurtitis
1991 SF butthurtitis
2000 EF butthurtitis
2008 GF butthurtitis
11 in a row 1985 - 1991 butthurtitis

All you've got is "8 in a row". Pales into insignificance when you consider the ownership Hawthorn has had of Geelong.

First the CHEFmeister, now the Lunchlady....if you cats weren't so intent on cooking up a storm for Stevie J he might be able to play midfield full times, wouldnt that be scary  but alas he is just to podgey and has no heart.

By the way, on a scale of 1 to 10 how happy are you Hawthorn beat Geelong in the 2008 grand final?
You seem to be pretty happy because you guys keep mentioning the days it has been since. Similar to how I count the days I finally got a divorce. Happiest day of my life that.
Oh look at it, scrabbling around, swinging wildly trying to land a blow.

Poor thing.

Attention Hawk supporters, shouldn't you be changing your cliches to.
- We hold this/that record for the last 51 years.
- In the last 51 years blah blah blah
- Records over 51 years old don't count
Then next year it will be
- Records over 52 years old don't count

What have Hawthorn done since 2008?

And if you want to start going back in time, what happened in 1963?

Geelong > Hawthorn, always has been, always will be.
