Better than Suicide Squad still not great. Black Mask, Zsasz and Quinn are great, rest isn’t much chop. There is an early scene that is amazing but it rolls into some cliche action sequences in the second half. Disappointing as they had been on a upswing since SS.
Isn't every action sequence for the last 90 years cliched?

The use of the term 'cliche' has become a one used by lazy, uninspiring minds who really shouldn't have a voice.

It’s cliche when it breaks it immersion. If you’re going to lean on tropes at least do them well.

That is fan boy whinging shit in that second sentence.

Really enjoyed it.

They had a bunch of characters, and thought they were going to fall into the SS trap of making them super 1 dimensional but fleshed them out enough to make me care for them.

Robbie and McGregor were the stand outs obviously, but low key really enjoyed Winstead as Huntress as well, the social awkwardness of her totally made sense.

Action scenes were pretty good as well, and gave everyone time to shine. Fair play to Robbie/her stunt double doing all those action scenes on skates.

Seeing the Amusement Mile was great as well.

Surprised how good this was, nothing how the trailers indicate what the movie is like.

Probably the most fun DCEU movie.

Think DC are finally getting it. Creating movies in the tone that's relevant to their characters rather than 'gritty Marvel'.

John Wick and The Raid are the two defining pieces of film that refreshed the action genre.

So not all

I have seen both, I didn't think they were "defining pieces of film" at all, but I did enjoy them.

Not particularly liking this look, I hope it'll look better fleshed out in film. Maybe it's the hair, would be better brunette.

After seeing Birds of prey it's easy to see why it's tanking at the box office.

Steaming pile of merde.

It's a 12 year old girls movie on the whole with an R rating. Thus a large chunk of potential paying customers couldn't go see it.

Can we say Got Woke, Went Broke?

Must admit the film was about a group of girls beating up men which annoyed me a little "men are bad" woke crap

Reckon Sonic will beat it opening weekend

it's chiched to use the term cliche when describing something that's cliched :D

Admittedly I didn't get the feeling they were aiming at the 'men are bad' messaging. I just think it was a movie about a bunch of women that beat up a bunch of blokes and male antagonists such as Blackmask and Zsasz? Ehh didn't honestly bother me, again I thought the movie was good, so maybe I missed all that.

Same. The story was logical and cohesive, and believe backstories within the context of a superhero movie.

I don't agree with political messaging for the sake of it when, but this didn't happen here.

If you can't accept having a majority female cast in a film, you need to take a long hard look at your insecurities.

Just because it’s an all female cast, doesn’t always mean they’re trying to be woke, and alienate men solely for female empowerment.

BOP and also WW don’t enforce that. They’re just female characters who coincidentally have a story to tell.

Meanwhile you have Disney/Marvel who do exactly that in Captain Marvel and Avengers End Game.

I wonder the reaction if they did a scene like this in one of their movies where all the MALE characters do the same thing?

Probably nothing.
