Interesting a new Iris West is being sought - I believe all those scenes are to be put back into the Snyder Cut.

Amazing actor. Are we still to close to his Magneto though?

Im sure I will forget all about that 30 mins into the film though, otherwise he is a great choice.

Hilary Swank for Nora Allen is pretty good too. She has a similiar facial structure to Miller so could pass for his mother.

You'll probably be the right person to ask actually, glenferry23 and I know this isn't the right thread for it but here goes. I love Batman, but don't know much about him and the universe outside of the movies and any video games I've played. I downloaded every single Batman comic with the intention of reading them but I just cant read the comic style. I am currently watching the animated series. What do you recommend I read/watch to learn more about the Batman universe?

Ive struggled reading comics also. I find them particularly hard when they are quite long and just the flow of reading text then stopping to look at pictures feels awkward for me.

The Dark Knight Returns
a few issues of Sandman
The Killing Joke

Tried Arkham Asyslum but only got half way through. It was good but I just struggle with the format if im not really in the mood.

In all seriousness though, completely understand. Comics aren’t for everyone. Many of them I’ve only read once as I much prefer graphic novels (which often get confused for comics but are longer and more complex in style).

The animated series is fantastic and was ahead of its time. In a way it laid the foundation for the “dark, gritty” style of comic book films we now see. That’s a great start. Very authentic to the source material. And was the origin of Harley Quinn.

Have you been able to read any of the graphic novels? This is a very good list, from 2012 actually but for me it still holds up. The top 4-5 are glorious.

Very very worthwhile checking out. As a Batman fan I feel you very much enjoy the expanded world it builds around him, and gets into some serious sh*t as well that won’t always find its way into the movies or animated series.

The Arkham Asylum novel is a particular highlight, the video games you mentioned pretty much originated from that.

And speaking of the animated series, if there’s one thing DC continually nails it’s their animated movies. Some in the above list have their own animated movies which I highly recommend. If anything my only negative to say about them is that they’re too short (Year One I felt could have been longer).

You’d probably recognise some elements of the Year One storyline through Batman Begins, Nolan reportedly was a very big fan of this.

Anyway, I could go on and on about this for hours but don’t want to bombard you. Hopefully this helps to point you in the right direction.

Yes I mentioned them in my earlier post, DC have nailed them. TDKR was very well done, the Endocrine talk show scene in particular. Todd Phillips paid homage to this in Joker, in particular the use of the line “you wouldn’t get it” when Joker was imagining something amusing in his head. I had nerd tears of joy when I saw this.

I'm intrigued by the Snyder Cut, i wanted Justice League to be good as much as anyone but it just wasn't, and these Snyder Cut nerds have whipped themselves into such a frenzy about it that they are past the point of being able to look at it objectively now and will have to say it is amazing no matter what..
Hopefully it is good, i fear it will be an excessively long mess, and Man of Steel and BvS were hardly amazing movies so that doesn't fill me with confidence either

Yep. There’s every chance it underwhelms again given his track record. Personally, I’m not expecting it to be great. My interest more so is to see his original Superman returns arc (solar suit etc), Junkie XL’s score and hopefully the introduction of the Lanterns and Darkseid.

DC seem to have found their groove with the universe lately.

Snyder Cut will be interesting, as would an Ayer Cut, but the Flashpoint movie reset, which seems to be the plan, will be great to wash away the snyderverse which was overkill on the brooding.
