Been hit by hundreds of bumps and not once was there a concussion. Can count the number of times there was high contact on one hand.
If you jump up and into someone, you are absolutely more likely to hit them in the head.

Technique wise the unnatural feeling is because of the muscle memory of how to perform a bump, it'll require re-training over a few years to adjust to a new technique, much like re-learning how to kick for example.

I getcha, and agree, but if you go to bump ‘low’, you’re running the risk of concussing yourself. No one can retrain or reprogram their body to put itself at risk consciously.

3 weeks seems a fraction light for what I expected, but it's not the most disagreeable tribunal decision I've seen.

I think with the pace of the game these days it's nigh impossible to deliver the perfect hip and shoulder bump. Would hate it to happen, but I can see the AFL banning the bump in order to save themselves a lot of court cases in future.

There’s no real jump at the head from DeGoey. When you run, jog or walk do you scrape your feet along the ground? No you don’t.
