What's the 360 load times like? On PS3 it takes forever to start again once you've died :(

Load times are crap as well on the 360.

Its probably why its taking me a while to get through this game. You are in the moment and shitting yourself then you die and you gotta wait a ridiculous amount of time until your back in the action. My only gripe so far

Ran out of ammo on Chapter 3? That seems a bit strange

Have you been smashing the crates for extra ammo?

Not being a smart arse, but a lot of people didn't know the crates could be broken open for extra ammo

Has anyone planted the beacon on the asteroid yet? That part is shitting me to tears

In my inifinite wisdom I'd left all of my guns bar one and most of my ammo at the store.....I was at that airlock part of Chapter 3, so I couldn't go back to retreive any of it.....I really should have 2 save files to stop shit like this happening again.

I am aware of the green boxes.
 
Tip on how to plant beacon: (Highlight to reveal)

Try to get on the other side of the asteroid. Land as close to the side as possible and then run until you get to some kind of safety area, there you will have plenty of time to plant the beacon.

I'm not sure if this part is a must, but I also broke those 4 wheels that are shooting the blue beams out. You have to slow them down first.

Up to the final chapter and loving it, I don't want it to end!

My only criticisms would be there's not enough variety of enemies and a lack of boss battles. The food storage boss was a huge disappointment....hopefully there's a good final boss to give me some redemption.

Also, most guns are ineffective bordering on useless. I reckon I could get through the entire game just with the Plasma Cutter.

I've just started chapter 11, loving it. Just amazing.

Enemy variety is ok, at least newer enemies are introduced throughout the game. Agree, boss battles are somewhat uninspiring. Don't get your hopes up re final boss, have been told it's mediocre.

Also agree whilst most the weapons are insane, some of them are just plain terrible. There is actually an achievement on the 360 version for using the plasma cutter only throughout the whole game, so presume it's the same (trophy) for PS3?

You're right though, I don't want it to end (well, the only reason I do is because I've got FarCry 2 sitting there waiting to be played)
 
Far Cry 2 isn't doing anything for me at this stage, I'm going to give it another chance today.....but I suspect after Dead Space it's onto Fallout 3.

Yeah, I just checked and there's a gold trophy on PS3 for finishing with only the Plasma Cutter. I might give it a try :thumbsu:

The last boss was better than I expected, but far easier than I'd anticipated. I had 5-6 medium health packs and didn't use any.

What suit do 360 users get as their alternate 5th suit?

The PS3 one is black like a PS3, I don't like it compared to the original.....but it's 60,000 cheaper.

Overall I'd give it a 9/10. There's a few glitches, like when you open a door to a room full of enemies but none of them will cross the door line....so you can rest assured if you stay behind the door you'll slaughter them all without being touched. Sometimes I couldn't pick up items, they just didn't register. I completed it on normal difficulty, so hopefully hard offers more of a challenge.

I've heard good things. The graphics didn't look mind-boggling IMO but I guess things can still be beautiful even if they don't have billions of pixels and shaders etc. The performance is amazing though apparently. People with machines as good as my old one are getting 60 fps on high resolution. I guess that's what happens when you have a game set entirely indoors with no huge outdoor surroundings with lots of lighting effects.

Yep, curb stomp them or pick them up with kinesis and throw them. It's just the black boxes with green flashing light on top. Look kind of like Xbox1's

The Elite suit download for 360 is grey and white with green lights on the face mask - kind of like the 360 colours.

When you finish you apparently get a Military Suit, unsure if that's the same on PS3.

Honestly must say I haven't noticed any bugs or glitches (I'm up to about half way through chapter 11).

The graphics IMO are absolutely amazing. One of the best looking games I've seen. The sound is incredible as well.

also i wanna start playing this game bad as!.....but i really don't want to with lbp coming out on friday then with all the fps action i can handle after that

from the sounds of this game i want to get the full experience....not stopping and starting it.

how's the story....you guys who have played it feel it's alive for sequels??

Finished it on the weekend, took 11 hours 45 minutes of actual gameplay and that was not speeding through, but not dawdling either. It's a game you can put on, finish and then move on to the next.

The story was pretty good. Bit slow for the first half dozen chapters, but really picked up towards the end. High probability of a sequel :thumbsu:
 
I'm already up to chapter 7 on the 2nd time through, trying to use a range of weapons and attain all the trophies.

The Line Gun is really effective, but ammo is too expensive.

After this time through it's onto trying to beat the game only with the Plasma Cutter.
