In a perfect world you'd want to keep him until after the finals, but it sounds like Williams had been planning for this possibility, and it also sounds like Williams was a big reason Bailey has the job. As for the bit where it says legal action against Melbourne, what a joke.

I think some credit should go to Garry Lyon for not being biased and pushing for Connolly as many suggested he would in the media and whatnot. And if he could get down to the club more often that would be fantastic

The board were set to announce their decision next week, however the story was leaked to the Adelaide press and so the Demons board were forced to show their hand early.

I was under the impression that Port Adelaide (not the media) found out about Bailey getting the job, and Choco then revealed it in an interview on Friday morning.

I think Melbourne have made the right choice. I rate him over Clarkson, he seems more personable, but with the fire and smarts to go with it.

Fascinating reading these posts, but you cant really blame any supporters for being optimistic about his selection. They were just being optimistic for the future and backing the club they support to make the correct decision. Sadly it didnt work out.

Fingers crossed you can get Malthouse because id really enjoy watching an old traditional team, down on it's luck in recent years, storm up the ladder and become a force ( not at cats expense of course)

Looking back people still rated our list and thought we could be back in the 8, makes me think why was he appointed, to overhaul our list or to take us strait back up, the only real big move was Trav Johnstone to Brisbane for a draft pick which is hardly trying to change the whole list around, after only winning 3 games in 2008 how did he last this long?
