Would make it the first time since 1992 that we've had no premiership players on our list
Fortunately we'll have another 22 next year.

The post he quoted referred to the possible retirements of Butler and Waters by the end of next year
My bad, anyways very sad Coxy retiring but called time before damaging his legacy unlike some people in recent history like Fevola and co. Will be missed.

Onya coxy. Champion of our great club, great memories and many thanks.

Champion. Part of the most dynamic centre four of all time imo and changed the way ruckman play the game

Nice that he'll most likely get a farewell game (whenever that is). Correct me if I'm wrong, but feels like a rare occurrence for our club....from memory Bluey McKenna is the only farewell game that comes to mind.

McIntosh and Jakovich?

Thanks for all your greatness, commitment, skill, professionalism, leadership, thrills and for being a great bloke.
Will be missed on the field greatly, thanks Coxy.:(:D:):thumbsu:

thanks for the memories Coxy *sniff* :(
I'm grateful I got to see the big man play and even more so because he's an Eagle through and through. A true champion of the game.

One of three ruckmen to revolutionise the ruckman role.

Graham Polly Farmer - original mobile ruckman and using handballing in close to clear the ball from congestion.

Simon Madden - best ruckman/forward. Ruckman that lead team goalkicking. Excellent marking power

Dean Cox - mobile ruckman that was an extra midfielder. Runs, spread from contest, breaks lines on occasion and best field kick of any ruckman on both sides. TOAST Dean. Made Judd, Cousins, Kerr look good.

Every inspiring ruckman models their game on one of these styles.

Nic Naitanui as the fourth? revolutionise tap to advantage and ruckman/contested midfielder/crumber

*slaps you upside the head*

Beau Waters is still there.
So is Butler.

Coxy is an absolute champion & probably decided his best was behind him so he made the correct call.
Hes got a few games left so lets hope the boys give him the send off he deserves with 6 straight wins.
At the very least lets win the games he plays at home and fly that mighty flag.
All the best Coxy.

Congrats Coxy. You will go down as one of the greatest ruckman to play the game. All the best for the future and your coaching career with us.

Sam Butler and Waters were in the premiership team, although I guess there is no guarantee they will be there next year...
