I get what you are saying....I was just stating what most cat fans were saying on the night
after such a narrow loss from such a huge comeback, and having to put up with about 28000
dills in red and white, someone always has to bare the brunt and unfortunately on the nite it was Hawko they dont remember the good things he did .....only the 3 sitters he missed.....theres always next week

Lol, there would have been calls to trade Snr......

amazing to think that even in his last year he still averaged 4 goals per game before Ayres and him had their rift.

What we would give to have a forward who could do that for us right now
Chappy could kick 4 a game if he just stayed inside the 50 all game and we looked to him more so than usual.

You mean when Ayres didnt like Ablett being a bigger star than him..... God I hate that man.
Ablett may have played on a few more seasons if it werent for that muppet.......

Agree about Chappy - I actually said that a while ago that we need to stop playing him in the mids and have him in and around the forward line.
Look what he did friday night playing down there.
IMO he has never been a midfielder but has always seemed to find the ball due to our previous strength in the mids so it wasnt as glaring.

I honestly still think he has a few more seasons left in him, but only up forward - its where he is most damaging anyway!!

from a brief read through of this thread on a break between exams, i get the feeling we as supporters have forgotten how to lose.

taking it from our first flag, and their first flag - brisbane season 5 (11th); geelong (1st). brisbane season 6 (7 wins - at rd 22); geelong (7 wins - at rd 12).

this club is in a remarkable position at 7-5, all things considered. winning a flag every year is not going to happen, nor should we expect it.

chris is doing a great job, and we should not be pushing ourselves to win a flag this year, that may cripple us for years afterwards. the kids must be played in the same team as our gun veterans, while they can still teach them a thing or two.

to be 7-5 in 2012, considering we made our first prelim as a group in 2004, is incredible, and testament to the team.

chris is a great coach, im glad he is in charge, and exposing our kids to game time in the same team as our aging guns is the best possible thing he could be doing. forget a flag this year, it may happen, it may not, but expecting one every year (which it seems like a few here do) is disrespectful and ignorant.

im on board with the team, and they are where they are. there is no magic solution - it is not the players being lazy or content, it is the fact we have peaked, and now must look to the future. how long until that future arrives is in the very capable hands of chris scott.

geelong should, by right and history, be nowhere near the top 8 by now.

congratulations guys, great club, great team, and heres to the future! the foundations are strong.

Dear Chris Scott,
Thank you being the GFC coach and double thank you for the granny. Please stay away for bigfooty alot of people on here a really greedy and want your side to win the granny every year and win everyweek. Also listen to there posts and make the team changes as what they say and game plan/style as what people say on here. You think can handle that? It's really hard for some of us to let aloan read there posts but you have to coach via these posts alrighty.

Dear Mr Davis,

I hear there's a bloke in WA called Graham Farmer who goes alright in the ruck. Maybe you should give him a call.

Regards,

Skerret

Dear Gary Ayers,

I don't care that you are doing extremely well coaching in the VFL, my hatred for you still burns after what you did to Snr.

Yours Sincerely,

Thundercracker

Dear Mr Thompson,

Winning every game through the year isnt the goal, winning the flag is. Rest players, injured players are lying to you, rest them too.

Cheers Guesty
June 2008.

Chris, you probably don't even read this thread but on the off chance that you may just take on board the post that appears below.

Dear Chris,
Some people didnt have a clue last year. The same people dont have a clue this year either.
Keep up the good work.
DtC

It's on the money.

Keep up the good work,
GM

Dear Mr Blight,

Can you please play Hinkley in the back line?

Big footy circa 1990

I came down to see a game at SS and Kenny was taking big Henry Playfair through some goal kicking practice before the game, needless to say big Henry didn't get anywhere near the big sticks.Kenny took the last kick and promptly kicked it out on the full.
They gave each other a pat on the back and headed back to the rooms.

I liked that little story :D

Dear Chris
Welcome to the real world. Last year you were the rooster, well this year is all about how geelong fans treat the feather dusters. Some of you people are a disgrace...trade Johnson for Boak you got to be kiddin me. I agree with the dude who said "ride the bumps".

Chris, you have been true to your promise that you will look toward the future and that you will be prepared to play young players. You have played *Bundy Christensen and Mitch Duncan (now a premiership players) as well as *Jerry (sic) Stringer, *Mitch Brown, *Josh Cowan, *Cameron Guthrie, *George Horlin-Smith, *Lincoln McCarthy, Steve Motlop, *Jonathan Simpkin, *Jordan Shroder, *Billy Smedts and *Nathan Vardy. (*indicates debut under C.Scott). And who knows, maybe Shane Kersten could play AFL games in 2012.

Just a quick comment to add that lightening quick Jordan Murdoch has been selected for his first game. Geelong now leads the AFL this year for players selected to debut. Interestingly, Collingwood is just behind Geelong by one player.

I am aware that a good deal of these players are not quite ready. But I also remember that Thompson was prepared to play young players before they were ready and give them a taste of footy at the highest level.

I am hopeful to see the the selection of Shane Kersten before too long.

Chris Scott is living up too his promise to look toward the future. Be patient my friends.

Dear Chris Scott,
If you have written the year off please tell us to our faces. Then we can adjust our expectations accordingly. If you have not written it if then please please stop playing kids in this part of the season. Enough of the newcomers, decide which ones that you want to take into finals and get the team settled. Show some respect for the older players who have ben and remain the backbone of the side and give them greater opportunities by knwoing what the newies can and will do.
