I don't care what promises you made on OUR behalf to Danny re his tenure at the club. He is not honouring his contract, so what gives you the right to give your word to him that he is safe.

You're not representing yourself when you make these contracts and promises, you're representing the Richmond Football Club and it's SUPPORTERS - us.

So please reconsider your stance that he is the coach until season's end. I don't want to sit back and watch another year go down the drain when there is a solution.

The solution is, if he doesn't perform, get rid of him and get someone else in who can do the job.

But I'm reasonable :) I'll give him till round 6 to prove his worth. In my opinion, performances like tonight with the so-called talent we had on the field, did not warrant the "pathetic" (luv that word) disgraceful performance we got in return.

The supporters rocked up - shame the players didn't.

I direct my anger to players and anyone who makes us put up with this farce.

I directed at the players last year and they got rid of a third of our list - i'm happy with that.

We don't have a list of players that reflects that performance last night.

Geez you luv mediocrity, TOO, happy to put up with crap.

ummmm

Yeah OK Froars but you went straight for thee coach...in admitting that Dannny is responsible for geeing them up before the game...most of that responsibility lies (appropriately) with the players.

You can't really even go for that many individual players ...as a team with a few exceptions...we were off.

Melb were more passionate on the night, just had some significant march around the ground. They wont get that build up every week.

We'll be back.

:)

its people like your goodself who force the club into rash decisions.so who,s the one who loves mediocrity?
You have been around long enough on these boards to know i have not been a regular sack the coach at every minute person.

Where's the rashness? It's been about 4 years of misery.

my point is whats the sense in sacking spud?history has shown in the past it just doesnt work long term to sack a coach mid season.all it dose is get the players off the hook who suddenly perform after a sacking of a coach yet go back to there old ways the following year.
we need a coach who has the balls to ignore outside influrences from the members.sadly those type of coach,s have knocked back us in the past and will continue to do so if they feel the club still bends over to its vocal element.
like wrennyboy said in another post like it or lump it spud will coach to the end of the year.

cheers!

The problem is that there would be no-one who can do the job and would be willing to come in mid-season.

The problems that manifested themselves yesterday had nothing to do with Spud's matchday performance. It would not have mattered one iota what moves he pulled in the box - we where still going to get smashed.

The bigger problem is how the complacency was able to set in after last weeks exceptional win. In this, Spud is partly responsible but it also must fall onto the players leadership group who should have maintained the anger throughout the playing group during the week.

Sacking Spud now will achieve nothing and will more than likely cause us more harm.

Our medium term view must be to secure an excellent coach for next year - one will not entertain the though of coaching us if they feel the board doesn't have the cajones to stick by them.

Casey's stand isn't really for the benefit of Spud but for that of who will coach us next year, whether that be Sheedy, Wallace, Eade or whoever.
