Pavlich was awesome on the weekend though, no doubt about it. Was the only guy to keep them in it in the second half.
Not living in Melbourne, you may have to enlighten me here. Do Victorians not recognise Pav as a half-decent player already? Forget his jumper, is he not rated by your lot?
If you are seriously saying that he needs to play in a Victorian based team to be a considered the best player in the comp, then what's your excuse for lauding up J Brown? Or C Judd?

Loyalty certainly plays a part in him staying but the amount of money/investments they throw at him is amazing. His 'loyalty' is making him a very rich man.

His club gets up off the canvass to win at the post and suddenly he's exhorting Pav the come home to a "good" club.
Melbourne were always going to get a magic run at some point in the season and I for one sympathise with Freo for being the unfortunate victims.
Freo has more to look forward to than the Dees , who just happened to pull one out of their arses.

If you wern't such a great player i'd say have fun rotting on the rusty anchor at Freo because they built a team for now, although now sucks for them too.

Cheap. That's all this post is. I don't necessarily agree with the OP but this smacks of being a complete coward who wants to sink the boots in any chance he get's. It has nothing to do with the original post which simply stated that Pavlich would get more kudos if he played for a Victorian club. He never said he should play for Melbourne.

You are right, he should have stayed at Freo then he wouldn't have been forced to play so many games in September whilst still getting the same pay if not more.

So we are generalising now? One post by one of our supporters means we don't have empathy for Freo? Of course we do. We know all too well what it feels like and while it probably isn't necessary to post it, the OP makes a decent point. How would Pav be feeling? He bleeds for the club and get's nothing back. I don't think he would ever leave as he is loyal enough to stick around, and I respect him for that, but the OP isn't without it's merits.
I'd be interested to see if you jumped into any Melbourne threads where plenty of posters got stuck into us doing it tough. You talk about this thread being an "opportunistic, ill-disguised and patronizing piece of garbage" - that's exactly what your reply was. Nothing more, nothing less.

Back on topic, I don't think Pavlich will be going anywhere soon. He is the heart and soul of that club, I would imagine they would do anything to keep him and so they should.
I love him - absolute champ, who doesn't receive his due credit. Best CHF in the game - undoubtedly better than Riewoldt and Brown. Amazingly consistent, never gets injured - huge shame he plays for the perennial rabble out west, but Melbourne aren't a much better option. If Richmond had not been idiotic enough to pass him by when they had the chance to snare him (happens all too often with the Tiges), he'd be a much higher regarded player. Hell, if he played for Collingwood, he'd probably be regarded as the best in the league.
Pity that footy club has no heart and soul. Horrible culture and he'll never see success there in his career - at the very least, not until he's well into his 30s. Freo must rebuild - the oldest list in the competition, yet it's clearly not good enough. Pavlich would net a top 5 pick and a good youngster at least (though knowing Freo's record, Jason Johnson and Mal Micheal might just be enough) - moreso from a club like the Bulldogs or the Crows, where a gun forward could be the difference between a decent finals showing and a premiership. Freo gets some excellent young talent into their list to get them underway into building a list from the ground up (plus the top 5 draft pick they're on track to get), not trying to patch holes and manufacture a decent list by importing Essendon rejects/senior players.

No one doubts that pavs a great player. Freo arent a bad team when they get theyre act together as was evident vs there loss to geelong and beating of West Coast. Freo have some quality players coming through Palmer/Mayne/Ibbo who show a lot of potential. All Freo need is a attitude adjustment and they shuld come good even so theyre club will be ALOT better than Melbourne, on and off, this year and probably for the next 5 years.
I think Pav is like Brown! He wont go anywhere because he plays not only for the cash but for the love of hes club! If we were to leave, I doubt hed go to your cruddy club!

I think you might find about 40,000+ Freo members who love him more than you ever could.
I'd be happy to trade Pav to whichever team it is that's going to win the most flags in the next 4 years. All you've got to do is categorically tell me which club will win those next 4 flags.
