I do not have the motivation for this and I detest cyclists. Nothing personal against any cyclists, I just believe that they have too much rights on our roads and should have to pay registration. Every day I see them in the city riding on footpaths, going through red lights etc. I have no sympathy for them when they end up under a couple of tonnes of metal.

That and the fact that I ran over one w***er that swerved infront of me the other day without looking. The douche rode off but I'm left with a scratch on my car. My fault for not chasing him down and beating him within an inch of his life I suppose.

But now I'm straying off topic.

lol, any sympathy i had for you has completely gone and then some.

You are a ****head.

Today I was in the middle of penning a letter to the Minister for Public Transport about how unacceptable the trains are at the moment.

Twice this week my peak hour train has been cancelled for no obvious reason, meaning subsequent trains are overcrowded and we all know what that's like. I have to catch 2 trains and a bus to get to work, so if one of them is drastically late or cancelled, then I could be between 30-60 minutes late for work. I already add an extra 30minutes to my travel time to compensate for late running.

I've been catching PT my whole life so I have learnt to take the good with the bad. But there's only so much crap one person can take! I'm not getting any younger, and when I get to work and feel like I've just run a marathon, that's not good for me or my employer, or anyone else who comes into contact with me that day!

Perhaps you have larger more immediate issues to deal with than PT:p

Don't blame Metro, they were never going to make any difference than Connex did. Blame the GOVERMENT! God only knows why the decided to pour millions and millions of dollars into "fixing" the only bloody thing that worked on public transport and that was the ticketing system. All of this money should of been injected into upgrading and maintaing infrastrutcutre.

The government, appointed Metro to "shift the blame" for another 5 years, they thought by appointing a new operator it would appear as if they are making a difference when in fact they are just trying to bluff us voters.

So here it is people, Vote for the Liberals and get rid of the money wasting Labour pricks!

We could do that... or could we detonate a nuke and start over?

These are good points.

Liberals are less likely than Labor to maintain infrustructure and especially upgrade infrustructure.

Catching a train to/from Geelong is worse...at least from my station there are trains to the city every 20 minutes- to Geelong there's one every hour from the city, with only about half of them stopping at my stop, meaning a train every two hours sometimes. It's really ridiculous considering they're both major stops. Then, if it's delayed 5-10 minutes, I have to wait for a different bus, which will invariably take an even longer route and I'll be later still.

Until this year I haven't had to catch public transport very often, so when I have used it it's been good, but the more you catch it the more you realise how much it sucks...I guess I had a sheltered upbringing.

I had the Metro experience today. I decided to park at Cranbourne station and catch a train into the city for the footy rather than drive for 90 minutes, like I usually do. Anyway on the way back I got to Southern Cross station at 7. I read the display and it said I had 2 minutes to the next train to Cranbourne. So I put my ticket in the barrier thinking that I timed my departure nicely. Lo and behold the barrier swallows my ticket. By the time I had got the guy who works at the barrier to retrieve it for me my train has gone. I look at the display and it says the next train to Cranbourne is half an hour away. I go and sit and wait for it.

Half an hour later a train turns up but it says it is destined for Pakenham so I think it mustn't be my train so I don't board. I look up on the display and it says the next train to Cranbourne is in half an hour. I go to the guy at the barrier again and ask what happened to the train to Cranbourne. He says that I have to take the Pakenham train to Cranbourne and change at Dandenong. No announcement was made that passengers wanting to go to Cranbourne need to take the Pakenham line. So I have to wait another half an hour for the next train to Pakenham.

About a minute before the train is due an announcement is made that the Pakenham train will be leaving from another platform. Everbody has to run up the stairs and down the stairs of the other platform in order to catch the train. A minute later the train arrives and at last I am on my way home.

Usually it takes me 90 minutes to drive into the city. It took me three hours to get back using the train tonight. I think I'll stick to driving.

My god Noddy terrible story. :thumbsd:

Meanwhile yesterday I caught a bus, then a train, connecting with another train, and it all ran smoothly so there you go!!!!! The friggin bus tho at the start of all that was 5 mins late (had 4 mins in btw to connect with the train) plus he drove reaaaaally slow.. but amazingly still got to the station on time.

Honestly I cannot believe everything ran on time.

Oh yeah I got another thing when they **** up. When the screen says one destination- yet it goes on a completely different line!!!!!!! Instead of Craigieburn, I've ended up at Footscray Station. A place every female wants to travel to on their own at night.

Screw Metro there always delayed, connex was better, im disappointed in the services of metro transport, i got strandard in the city as the cragieburn line was changed to richmond

Metro have been better than Connex, all the I almost snapped out one of their ticket inspectors for being a prick..

I am dumbfounded by the amount of people who actually thought or still think that metro was going to make any difference what so ever. All the Government did by appointing a new operator, was to give the public a new punching bag when public transport failed, and in the process shifted the heat and blame of themselves.

Instead of blaming Metro blame the state goverments for years of neglect of mainteance and upgrade to facilities, not to mention wasting millions of dollars on a ticketing system months over schedule and that still doesn't operate properly. If there was one thing that worked on our public transport system it was the ticketing system. Instead of fixing a non-issue, the money (for Myki) should of been spent on upgrading and duplicating train lines.

WTF was going on today?

Every train I saw was delayed!

In the morning, 7.25am 7 minutes.
After my exam, 11.00am 6 minutes.
Coming home from lunch, 12.30am 6 minutes.
One going the other way, 12.40am 5 minutes.
On the way to the footy, 6.50pm 11 minutes.
The other way, 6.50pm 10 minutes.
At Flinders changing for the footy 7.40pm 6 minutes.

Took an hour from Patterson Station to Southern Cross.
