Wha..

We had their 1st rounder a few years back and they beat all expectations to make the prelim and we got a mid teens pick. Then the year after when we didn't have it but had Carltons thinking who could possibly finish below them..Melbourne did and stuffed up our pick enough to cost us at least taking Luke Jackson and if not for the Gold Coast PP, Noah Anderson. Then fast forward this year - we have the melbourne 2nd rounder and they win the bleddy comp and it is almost pick 40

They are THE worst team for us to deathride

It was extremely obviously tongue in cheek.

What stabby said.

But yes at the minute can’t get worse than them winning the premiership so hopefully down hill from here well next year anyway.

Melbourne should make the prelim. Pick 15 is likely best case scenario. Injuries could be a factor.

Should, yes. But it's not unheard of for premiership teams to fall away quickly, particularly when their rise has seemingly come from nowhere. See Bulldogs 2017 for example.

Has the Melbourne rise come from nowhere?

The difference is that Dogs were the best team in the league for the last quarter of the GF.

Melbourne were fairly comfortably the best team all year this year.

How funny would it be if Melbourne bombed out and finished 17th.

Would not be so funny for us, but we finish 18th

And we North Melbourne miss out in pick 1 and 2.

Would be very interesting if we then offered pick 1 & 2 for Lukosius and Rankine

Luko and Rankine would want to have bloody good years next year if we're planning on giving up picks 1 and 2 for them!

nah, it’s the just complete insanity of thinking Luko & Rankine are worth more than when they were drafted

massive disappointments both and they didn’t go that high when drafted originally
Yes but compound that on spending pick 1 or 2 on someone you could get for free?
Talk about pissing it up against a wall.

I'd pay 4 for luko... rankine would barely be worth a 1st ...
No way would I pay pick 4 for Luko, jury still out for me....

Luko still has a bit of Jack Watts to me, talented and looks good with ball in hand but doesn't work hard enough all do enough of rhe team things

Still a bit to bruise free for me

It's hard to get the genuine death ride feeling required when the pick just gets dumped on you and you're happy with it and you didn't spend a week reading insane posts from idiotic supporters of the other club. If anything, given this pick is for the Swans and it's their supporters that have shat us, it should be a reverse death ride thread. But then these don't work for Melbourne, so maybe leave it as it is.
