When asked about the switch, Jackson said he was looking forward to finally working with a group who he could push hard.

"To work with a group more renowned for their work ethic than image, and who will not take a backward step when handed a challenge at training is really exciting"

"Ive already had some conversations with a few of the guys, and Ray Chamberlain in particular said he for one would love a training camp to bond with the boys while getting sweaty and working hard together"

I actually thought the fake part was the first paragraph where it pretended that Melbourne have a "high performance team". WTF have they been doing for the past decade, and why would you want to poach anybody out of it?
Takes quite a performance to tank without supposedly tanking... ;)

Norwood, Canadiens, Maroons.
Looks like Melbourne might not be paying any attention to our hopes for them having a poor season.
So far anyway.

Yeah that’s a pretty easy start I must admit. But I’m thinking they will go better than we want. So they surely will be shit.
Reverse psychology.
Don't forget they are Melbourne.

No amount of early draft picks can compensate for an absence of pride and resilience.

Danger to play on Lever in Round 1 and kick 6 goals on him where he is proclaimed the new King of Football and commentators start fapping that he could win the Brownlow and Coleman

Melb fans realize they're paying 900k for a guy who cant defend 1 on 1

"McDonald, who is unlikely to be fit for Round 1 due to a sore toe"

Maybe because he has given the players a good kick up the ####
...or maybe it hurts weally, weally bad and can't bare to play on it.

If only there was some sort of camp that the players could go on to help improve their mental strength and resilience.
