December draft

Chad Rintoul did not nominate for the draft yesterday. He also is out of contract with the Eagles. Can he still take part in the draft if delisted or at all?

Eagles have offered him a deal that is not enough for him. They say he will enter the draft but I can't see how now. We have matt Connell training with us and he could be Chads replacement if he goes.

Yes Frodo. If he gets delisted (by not signing the contract) he can enter the draft under 'delisted'.

If a player is delisted or out of contract he can go into the draft. There is a rumour that he has agreed to go to a Melbourne based club. StKilda has already nominated Voss as their pick so it would depend upon his price. He might not fit into the salary cap of some clubs.

I think the Pies have the next pick after St Kilda. In my opinion I think they would prefer a ruckman or be better off trying to pick one up but Rintoul may be the best player available and they might pick him.

As far as I have heard, very few players will be selected in this draft.
I believe Brett James could be a worthwhile selection for Port Adelaide if they participate.

Crows are looking at up to five performers from pre-seaon training up to this point. They previously had only one place on their list, but they dropped Singh in order to be able to accomodate two players at least.

Crows at least are one club looking to add a couple to their list in December.
